Features of IBM BigFix:

Single console - Must install it on every computer that has to be managed. It is
continuously assessed by the state of endpoint against the stated policy, whether it is
connected to the network or not. As soon as the agent notices the target out of compliance
with a policy or checklist, It informs the server, runs the configured remediation task and
immediately notifies the server of the task result and status.
A single intelligent agent - Whatever specific solution, endpoint protection system
lifecycle management or security configuration and vulnerability management. It is
managed from a single console.
Single server - It is a single server that coordinates the flow of information to and from
individual clients. It stores the results in the database. It manages the policy-based content.
It allows the operator to maintain real-time visibility and control over all the devices in the

Optionally a second server - A disaster server architecture (DSA) server that replicates

BigFIx server automatically takes over as fully functional IBM Big Fix servers.
Optionally one or more relays - A relay is a client that enhances a relay service. It
performs all client actions to protect the host computers. In addition, delivers content and
software downloads to child clients and relays. Promoting an agent to relay takes minutes
and doesn't require dedicated network or hardware configuration changes.
Web reports - Web reports can help produce charts and graphs of the data, maintain an
audit trail of all the fixed activity in the network, provide hardcopy, aggregate information,
and export data for further manipulation in a database or a spreadsheet.
