in South Dakota GIVES!
South Dakota’s first-ever state-wide giving day kicks off at midnight on Giv- ing Tuesday, November 27, 2018 and continues until 11:59pm that night. Nonprofit organizations across the state will unite to celebrate generosity before the sun comes up and well after the sun goes down by asking their community of supporters to, together, raise as much money as humanly possible.
It’s an “all hands on deck” (or shall we say “all cowboy hats on the table”) approach, where nonprofit staff members and volunteers and donors focus on raising awareness in support of the good work they do. It allows you to wrangle up your board, your family, your friends, and your that neighbor down the street who you haven’t met yet, to spread the word about what you do, and how it contributes to making South Dakota 122 percent awe- some.
Prize money will be awarded from the South Dakota Prize Pool, a truck- load of money donated from individuals, businesses and foundations who believe in South Dakota, and the future of our state. The cool thing? It doesn’t matter if you are a big nonprofit or a tiny nonprofit, if you raise $100 or $100,000. Every participating nonprofit signed up on this website has the chance to win. South Dakota Day of Giving is unlike any other giving day in the country (really!) because, well, South Dakota is unlike any other state in the country (am I right or am I right?). “For reals. Every dollar you earn goes to you.”
First, South Dakota Gives, the organization leading the day, takes zip, zero, zilch in terms of a percentage from the donations you receive. For reals. Every dollar you earn goes to you. Second, the donations are being made directly to the nonprofits. We are simply providing tools, resources, the South Dakota Prize Pool, and a healthy dose of South Dakota can-do mo- tivation, to get the day started. We’re also offering participating nonprofits free regional trainings to ramp up their South Dakota Day of Giving plans. South Dakota Day of Giving is a chance to showcase your passion, whether its animals or art, food or farming, nonprofits all across our state are making life just a little bit better for all who call South Dakota home. So sign-up. Start spreading the word. And get your pocketbooks ready. South Dakota Day of Giving is Giving Tuesday, November 27, 2018.

conviction and courage to do what is right regardless of the opposition, re-
ligious or secular. There is a courage killer which has been increasingly in
society for at least 30 years – political correctness. Alan Bloom recognized
TOTAL = $225.00
it in “The Closing of the American Mind” (1987) as being foisted upon so-
ciety by higher education. Now PC is in full bloom. It has become a primary weapon against any opposition to any group considered to be disadvan- taged or hindered in any way... except Biblical virtues. Yea, God and His word are the ultimate targets to be destroyed.
Former Pres. Carter recently asserted “I believe Jesus would approve gay marriage...” He also said “I don’t have any verse in scripture” to support his belief. Of course not! In fact, his assertion invoking Jesus’ approval of ho- mosexual marriage is nothing short of blasphemy.
In their ignorance or rebellion, the politically correct try to give legiti- macy to sin by parsing Jesus’ words. He did not condemn homosexuality, transgenderism and every other aberrant behavior. This is the result of Sec- ular Humanism and its child Postmodernism in full bloom. Man became his own god, makes his own standards and condemns any opposing criti- cism, especially God and His standard!
No, Jesus did not specifically condemn homosexuality. Did He need to do so? At His time on earth, God’s Old Covenant with ancient Israel was in effect, which included, “If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death” (Leviticus 20:3). Under the New Covenant, the apostle Paul included it in a list of sins (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) and focused specifically as an abominable sin (Romans 1:26-32).
To love God with all of one’s being requires the conviction and courage to stand for God and His way and firmly standing against all opposition. Pe- riod! “...I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewd- ness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ” (Jude 1:3-4). That requires conviction and the courage to do so.
