BACKGROUND (BERNAMA, 2020)
OF UUM 01
University Utara Malaysia (UUM) is the
sixth public university which was built on
16 February 1998 and started centralized on
23 April 1998. The main purpose of the
establishment of this university is to
educate and produce professional students
in the field of management in both the
local and international markets. Sintok is
a tiny village along the North-South
Highway where UUM is located. Originally,
this location was a tin mine area
surrounded by a natural environment,
therefore there is a river that runs
through the campus, the Sintok river,
allowing the school to maintain a peaceful
and calm atmosphere. On February 17, 2004,
His Majesty the Royal Chancellor of UUM
declared the campus, which spans 1,061
hectares, fully open.
UUM underwent a substantial and
historic turnaround plan in January 2008.
The UUM College of Arts and Sciences (UUM
CAS), the UUM College of Business (UUM
COB), and the UUM College of Law,
Government, and International Studies (UUM
COLGIS) were formed from 13 faculties that
were simplified and reformed into three
primary colleges. Under each of these
faculties there are also several schools
consisting of several majors as well. In
addition, there are also several
organizational clubs established among
students. One of them is the
Entrepreneurship Club.

organization under the Department of 02
Entrepreneurship, School of Business Management
(SBM), UUM. This organization was first established
in 2013 which was initially just a basic
organization that has not stood alone under its
department, but still under the school that is SBM.
Until the beginning of 2015, there were many
organizations established under SBM until some
clubs began to be divided under their respective
departments.
Once the Entrepreneurship Corporate Club (ECC)
had come under its own entrepreneurial department,
we began to form a new management body led by
Bryan, as well as a new work program as well. If
previously our work program was very limited as we
still share work programs with several other
organizations under SBM, however now we are able to
run a wider and many more work programs either in
the short or long term. Of course, we have a big
program that will run every year. We will also hold
regular meetings to discuss our work programs and
conduct evaluations.
CLUB MEETING
Source: Canva
In early April, the ECC held a meeting to discuss the work
program they needed to run next. The meeting was chaired by Bryan
as the club leader and attended by the entire club manager. After
evaluating their entire work program, Bryan concluded that they
needed to run their largest work program in the near future.
Therefore, Bryan invites his members to exchange ideas to discuss
what they need to do for the program to be implemented.
03
MEETING RESULT
BY ECC
After brainstorming between Bryan and
his members, they decided to run their
biggest program into a festival. Some
festivals are usually held every year, but
this year ECC will hold a Food Festival.
Bryan gave the opinion that it would be
great if the ECC had a representative to
take part in the festival, not just as a
program manager. Therefore, Bryan gave an
opinion for them to be one of the traders
at the festival later because it really
describes their club's identity as
entrepreneurs. After a fairly long
discussion, they unanimously agreed to open
a burger stall at the upcoming Food
Festival by ECC.

SYSTEM OF
LINEAR
EQUATIONS
WHAT IS A SYSTEM OF
LINEAR EQUATIONS?
A system linear equation can be described as where there are similar
variables in the set of linear equations. Also can be described for
the variables involved, a linear equation with a rank of one is used.
That is, every undetermined variables in a linear equation are
reached to the rank of one.
A set of linear equations way to solve is a group of values which,
when substituted for the system's selected variables, results in each
equation being true (Scholars, 2021). If we notice, in fact the
linear system of equations is not just a mathematical theory that
needs to be thought too complicated so that we do not feel close to
it.
REAL LIFE
This system of linear equations is actually very close to the events
in our lives, for which there are many problems or things that can be
solved by means of this system of linear equations.

We can use the inverse method by reducing the INVERSE
augmented matrix by using ERO and let the left part METHOD
become the identity matrix. In this technique, the
basic mathematical operations are used to equalize
both sides of the linear equation, causing the
variable to show on one side and its corresponding
quantity to show on the other. (Solving Linear
Equations in One Variable by Inverse Operations,

CONCLUSION
(1/2)
As a conclusion, by using the three steps to solve the system linear
equations which are, inverse method, cramer's rule, and gaussian method
we still got the same answer. After knowing the total quantity purchased
for each ingredient, so that we can identify how much total money each of
us use in buying the necessary ingredients.
We found that Agnes bought 5 packs of burger bread per day for RM 4.70 on
the first and second day from Giant, and for RM 4.60 on the third to
seventh day from Lotus’s. So Agnes spent RM 138.50 for a burger bread for
7 days. Agnes also bought 4 units of eggs and spent RM15 for eggs at
Giant on the first day, and RM 12.9 at Lotus's on the third, fifth, and
sixth days. Therefore, the total money spent by Agnes for eggs is RM
214.8 for the 4 days. As a result, the total money that Jia Wei needs to
return to Agnes is RM 353.30.
Cheng bought 10 packs of chicken and beef slices on the first day at
Everrise Supermarket for RM 21.40. And he bought at Giant on the third,
fifth, sixth, and seventh days for RM 12.80.Therefore, Cheng's total
expenditure for 5 days is RM 726. The ingredient bought by Cheng is the
ingredient that requires the most stock, therefore the total cost
incurred is also very high.

24
CONCLUSION
(2/2)
Yani bought 3 margarines on the first and second day at Aeon at RM 7.60
per unit, at Lotus's on the fourth day at RM 6.30, and at Giant on the
fifth day at RM 6.15. Therefore, the total expenditure for margarine is
RM 82.95 for four days. As for mayonnaise, yani has bought 4 pieces,
namely at a price of RM 9.70 at Aeon on the first and second day, and at
a price of RM 5.40 at Giant on the fifth and seventh day. Therefore,
Yani's total expenditure for mayonnaise is RM 120.80. As for the chilli
sauce, Yani bought 2 pieces for RM 4.80 at Aeon on the first day, RM 4.30
at Everrise Supermarket on the third day, and RM 3.40 at Giant on the
sixth and seventh day. So, the total expenditure for chili sauce is RM
31.80 for four days. As for pepper powder, Yani only bought one for RM 6
on the first day at Aeon, RM 6.80 on the fourth day at Lotus's, and RM
10.20 on the seventh day at Giant. Therefore, the total expenditure for
pepper powder is RM 23. Therefore, the total money that needs to be
returned by Jia Wei to Yani is RM 258.55

Part 1
First, I would like to thank Prof Dr Haslinda Ibrahim for giving us
the opportunity to experience this project. This project is not easy to
complete as we need to figure out a scenario with equation and solve the
equation to get the answer that we need. Throughout this project work, I
need to done more research about the scenario and system of linear
equation. This is the hardest part as we need to come out equation which
when we solve will give us logic answer. We can’t simple create few
equations that results are unlogic in the real world.
The most challenging part for me is I need to research the way to
use Excel in solving the system of linear equation. As our group decided
to use 3 different way in solving the system of linear equation with is
inverse method, Cramer’s rule and Gaussian Elimination (REF) to see
different method product same results that we need. This part is
challenge for me as I was responsible to solve it using Excel. However,
by solving system of linear equation using Excel, it actually opens my
mind and improve my skills in using Excel. I very happy to incorporate
what I have learned in Linear Algebra into this project work.
Finally, I very happy that we able to come out with a scenario with
logical equation and answer after encounter several challenge. This
project definitely push my knowledge about the system of linear equation
in solving real life problems.

First of all, I want to express my gratitude to my professor, Prof. Dr.
Haslinda Ibrahim for devising the amazing idea of connecting the topic to
this assignment and making it more clear through this project. When I
initially started learning linear equation, I was a little stumped when it
came to answering the question since I wasn't sure what the conclusion of
this subtopic would be. To be honest, studying Linear Algebra is difficult
for me. However, after conducting extensive research and study on several
subtopics in order to complete this job successfully, I discovered that I am
capable of doing so.
Through this project, I will have a better understanding of linear
algebra and develop my ability to study and conduct research efficiently.
This project taught me that it is critical to have a creative mind in order
to utilise knowledge of linear equation in real life. Then, I discovered a
variety of instances that connect to what we've learned. I believe that it
can help us improve our problem-solving and social abilities more readily.
Additionally, I want to thank my colleague Agnes, Bryan, and Yani for
their hard effort in assisting me in completing this assignment. Moreover,
this project taught me how to be a creative learner when it comes to unknown
and linear equation. Furthermore, I may broaden my understanding by visiting
a number of websites dedicated to this subject.
Once again, I would want to say "Thank you so much" to my kind and
beloved professor, Prof Dr. Haslinda Ibrahim, who has always been there to
help us through the project. All in all, I enjoyed working on this project
since it made us to be creative with everything we were doing in order to
achieve the greatest result.

REFLECTION
Part 2
In this group project, we need to use our logical thinking to solve
real-world problems by using system of linear equation and design an eye-
catching magazine. Before we started this project, we had several
brainstorming group discussions to reach a unified idea or direction. After
some research, discussions, and changes, we finally decided to use the burger
stall as the basis for the story. Thereby envisioning interesting and logical
story lines and problems encountered, and using what we have learned about
system of linear equation to solve the problem faced.
My favorite part about this group project is that it requires us to
fully understand what we have learned and apply it to a very interesting and
engaging storyline. I very much agree with Professor Dr. Haslinda Bt Ibrahim
that mathematics is not memorized but needs to be fully understood. The best
way is to apply it in our life. Mathematics exists to enrich our lives, not
just only book knowledge. Through this group project, we can bring
mathematics closer to our lives in a more positive and joyful manner. Of
course, let me, who is full of strange ideas, have a pipeline to release.
At the same time, I think the hardest part is getting the idea that
comes out which can perfectly integrate with the system of linear equations.
System of linear equations could be hard and easy for me. The moment is very
smooth and happy when we come up with ideas. However, when we were about to
implement the idea (create the equation and its solution), it didn't go so
well. We had a lot of problems, like not being able to create reasonable
equations, having trouble to create the equations that have a solution, or
getting negative numbers for the answer. To make everything more rational, we
had to revise our storyline repeatedly to come up with a more feasible
equation.
I am very pleased that, through the tireless efforts of our group, we
have finally reached a unified consensus. We succeeded in designing our own
interesting story line and incorporating elements of system of linear
equations. I can't say our story is the most fascinating, but it's definitely
possible in our lives or even experienced. Through this group project, we
will use mathematics more confidently in our future to keep the bad guys
speechless. Mathematics will be our evidence and even our weapon. I hope that
in the future, I can apply what I have learned in mathematics to my life.

Through this project, I can learn that mathematics can be applied in
real life and not just theory. Before this I only thought that the system
of linear equations is just a theory to be studied, but through this
project I and the team can apply it through a story that we created. This
project is very interesting in my opinion, because we can be creative in a
mathematical way. This project also trained me to think critically when
looking to get ideas in creating a logical scenario. Therefore, I would
like to thank our lecturer, Prof Dr Haslinda Ibrahim for helping us a lot
throughout the process of this project and giving us a lot of guidance.
