Carlisle Township Fire Department trains with Explorers of Post #909
The Carlisle Township Firefighters and Fire Explor-
ers of Post #909 spent the month of May participating
in joint training. The training consisted of pump op-
erations, the operation and handling of fire hoses and
large volume ground monitors. The Fire Explorers and
Firefighters advanced charged handlines in a variety of
exercises set up to teach and challenge the two groups
to work together and accomplish the tasks. The train-
ing was a huge success and enjoyed by all. The youths
in Post #909 are exceptional with all Explorers having
an eagerness to learn and participate in all aspects, in-
cluding getting the equipment used back into service at
the conclusion of all training exercises.
The Explorer Post was started with the hard work
of the Grafton Village Fire Department and Grafton
Township Fire Department. The Fire Explorers Post is
made up of Grafton Village, Grafton Township, Carl-
isle Township and Eaton Township Fire Departments.
The Carlisle Township Trustees, along with Fire Chief
Higgins, have been very supportive of the Carlisle
Township Fire Department joining in this group effort
to work with and teach the young Fire Explorers. The
Fire Explorer Post is for male and female participants
between the ages of 14 and 21. They meet the first
Sunday of the month for a group dinner with the host
department for the monthly training. The host depart-
ment will have the Explorers for each of their training
sessions during that month. Each month they rotate
to a different department, allowing them to learn and
train with different departments and firefighters. Members of the Fire Explorers of Post #909 gear up for special fire/rescue training.
The goal of the Explorer program is to give youths the number of interested applicants and membership in It has been a pleasure working with the youths in

The Belden B’s and G’s Memorial Day Parade
While Midview students are enjoying the well-deserved
summer break, the district’s maintenance team is hard at work
preparing the facilities and grounds for next school year.
In addition to the regular deep cleaning of the buildings,
they will complete several additional projects throughout the
summer. This includes a lot of paving projects to refresh our
parking lots. We’ll also be adding some brand-new tennis
courts to the campus, which will be a great addition to our ath-
letic facilities.
Additionally, we will be improving some safety items
around campus, including some additional cameras throughout
the buildings.
If you’re on campus this summer and see our maintenance
team, take a moment to thank them for all of their hard work.
