Columbia Local School District dedicates Southwest General Stadium at CHS
Columbia athletes unrolled banners of this year’s teams and groups that will be the ?rst to bene?t from the investment of Southwest General as part of Mr. Bansek’s dedication.
Friday, August 25, was a ?rst for Columbia Schools! Southwest General and Columbia Local Schools have entered into a ?ve-year agreement for the naming rights to the Colum-
bia High School stadium. Southwest General Stadium at Columbia High School was introduced prior to the Independence vs. Columbia football game on August 25. During this
agreement, Southwest General will invest $50,000 to Columbia Schools to be used equally between athletics and academics. This investment has helped CLSD renovate the stadium,
as well as help with a makeover of the library at the high school. CLSD will continue to build partnerships to provide their students and student-athletes with the best opportunities!
CLSD would like to extend a big thank you to Southwest General, President and CEO Bill Young and Vice President Al Matyas for their support of the schools! CLSD looks forward
to continuing a positive relationship for many more years to come.

It Pays to Advertise With Us! Harvest Bike Tour.
The ride is presented by Bike Medina County, in conjunc-
tion with the Medina County Bicycle Transportation Task Force.
Its’ goal is to promote bicycle safety in the community through
education, improved signage, new trails and special events. All
proceeds from the tour go right back into promoting safe cycling
in Medina County.
The event offers a casual family ride of 6 miles, primarily on
Medina County Park District’s Chippewa Inlet Trail, with a stop
in the Village of Chippewa Lake. A 12-mile option will further
explore park trails, make a loop through the Village of Chippewa
Lake and travel a short stretch of Chippewa Road. Experienced
cyclists can choose from routes of 32 or 50 miles that encompass
rolling hills, lake views, county parks and the beautiful autumn
countryside. All rides begin and end at Buckeye Woods Park,
6335 Wedgewood Lane, in Medina.
