Become a Sponsor of the 2018 Columbia Homecoming Festival

Donation Drive

The Columbia Homecoming Festival is an annual weekend celebration of fun-filled activities. It is
proudly hosted by The Columbia Chamber of Commerce, which is a non-profit 501(c)

(6) organization. The Columbia Homecoming Festival relies on sponsorships and
donations to help fund the events. Individuals and/or organizations may sponsor the

festival at any level, up to the most recognized “SPECIAL EVENT SPONSOR”.
Your sponsorships and donations make these events possible: fireworks display,

family-friendly entertainment, the Parade, eating contests, prizes and awards, Kid’s
Day games, inflatables and bounce houses and much more!

The Columbia Chamber of Commerce members are part of the local community and share their passion for

supporting the causes most important to their neighborhoods. Proceeds from the festival help to support

the community, food banks, boy and girl scouts, Fire Department, park enhancement, scholarships,
school activities and various other local organizations.

To find out how rewarding being a supporter can be, just ask our 2017 sponsors. A special “thank you”

to all of you for helping to make last year’s festival a great success! Please help us meet our goal of
$25,000. You can donate online at www.columbiastation.com.

“The Second Time Around,” by Henry Denker. It is the second
time around for senior citizens Samuel Jonas and Laura Curtis,
a widower and a widow who strike up a love affair. The po-
tential loss of social security benefits make living in sin more
attractive than tying the knot; that is until their grown children
become involved. The erstwhile couple’s offspring are not free
of neuroses themselves, shown clearly as they raise their ob-

situation. Laughs will abound as this comedy unfolds.
Performances are May, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20. Shows now

“Growing Nutrition” program

LCOOA and Thrive are co-sponsor a “Growing Nutrition”
program for qualified southern Lorain County residents.
“Growing Nutrition” is a program to facilitate growing fresh
produce at your home. Children and families who already qual-
ify for free/reduced lunches, or are at least 60 years old and
live in Southern Lorain County can apply for this program.
Twenty-five eligible applicants will be given supplies to grow
produce at their home, such as a raised wooden garden planter,
soil, trowel, 3-4 plants, seeds, wire for vines and tomato cages.
This project will begin in May and finish at the end of Au-
gust. Distribution of supplies will be through Well-Help and
the Southern Satellite Office and the Lorain County Office on
Aging. Each participant will receive a production log tracking
the success of their garden which will be submitted at the close
of August. Throughout the growing season one contact will be
made to check the garden progress and also provide assistance
with pest or disease management if necessary.
Apply now to grow your own produce! To apply, send your
name, address, phone number and email (please include the
names and ages of the people in your household) to: spoling@
