LaGrange Lions Festival Fun Wish Upon a Star fund-raiser

The American Legion Post #717 is holding a “Wish Upon
a Star” fund-raising event to bene?t the family of KarLiegh
Rae. KarLiegh has experienced 5 heart surgeries by the age
of 3. She is currently scheduled for her 6th surgery by late fall
of this year. Further complicating things is KarLiegh’s recent
epilepsy diagnosis. This special event is to give KarLiegh
and her family a much deserved break from the medical bur-
dens by making KarLiegh’s wish come true. Come and help
KarLiegh ?nd her “Star” on Saturday, August 19, KarLiegh’s
birthday. The Post home is located at 8820 Bender Road, in
North Ridgeville. Doors open at 5:30 and dinner is served at 6
p.m. A cash bar will be available from 9 p.m.-12 a.m.

Tickets are available at the door for $25 per person and
includes unlimited well drinks, drafts and wine. Also included
is music, raf?es, side boards, a 50/50 drawing and more!

OLQP Home Days Festival

The annual Home Days Festival, sponsored by Our Lady
Queen of Peace Church, will be held Thursday, Friday and
Saturday evenings, August 3-5, from 6-11 p.m. each evening.
There will also be a 5K run on Saturday morning. There is
a different theme each night: Thursday is Protect and Serve
night, Friday is Family Night and Saturday is ?reworks night.
The event features rides, concessions, crafts, bake sales, Chi-
nese raf?es, a beer garden, kids’ games, Bingo, nightly 50/50
drawings, live music, DJs, a car show, a magician, a balloon
artist, kid shows/story time, a 1.5-mile walk, a 5K run, corn
hole tournament and a ?reworks display on Saturday night.

Olmsted Heritage Days

Fair weather allowed attendees to experience a Come celebrate the 26th annual Olmsted Heritage Days,
tethered “Hot Air Balloon Ride” at the 2017 LaGrange August 3-6. Olmsted Heritage Days is held in the downtown
Lions Festival. Olmsted Falls Historic District - Grand Paci?c Junction, lo-
cated on Columbia Rd. and Mill St. The kick-off Parade is
“Fireworks” lit up the night sky over the festival grounds. on Thursday, August 3, starting at 7 p.m. On Thursday eve-
ning at 8:30 p.m., enjoy the musical entertainment of The
Spazmatics. Get ready to go back to the 1980s music, style
and dancing! On Friday, August 4, enjoy beer samples at the
Local Craft Beer Tasting from 4-5 p.m., along with other fun
activities throughout the day. Saturday is Kids Day with all
day activities for the kids, including a Bike Parade at 10:30
a.m. Sunday will be ?lled with senior activities and music,
dancing and food favorites for all! Health Screenings are free
for seniors from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. by local health providers.

The Olmsted Falls Kiwanis is holding its annual Breakfast
on The Bridge Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, August 6. The
breakfast will be held on the Olmsted Falls Covered Bridge
from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

and her family have a small farm and are in the process of
expanding their cattle and market goat herds.

“Past participants in this program have really excelled at
becoming effective advocates for the food and agricultural in-
dustries,” said Melinda Witten, AgriPOWER director.

North Ridgeville Senior Center is hosting a “Tea Party to Go”
event with Emerald Necklace Inn & Tea Room on Friday, Sep-

Emerald Necklace Inn & Tea Room will be at the North Rid-
geville Senior Center. The tea party will have a tea tasting of 3

Geneva College announces the Dean’s List of undergraduate
students for the spring 2017 semester. To be eligible for this rec-
ognition, students in traditional programs must earn a GPA of at
least 3.6 while passing 12 credit hours or more.

Annual Horseshoe Tournament

the North Ridgeville Corn Festival. This year’s event will be on
Saturday, August 12, beginning at 12 p.m. at South Central Park
near the tennis courts off Avon Belden Road.

Anyone interested in signing up for the tournament, singles
and doubles, men, and women, can sign up Saturday morning
beginning at 10 a.m. until the start of the tournament. A blind
draw will be held for doubles beginning at 11:45 a.m. The entry
fee is $10 for doubles. Singles is $5 if you have signed up for
doubles. All proceeds from the horseshoe tournament bene?t the
Meals-On-Wheels program provided by the North Ridgeville
Of?ce for Older Adults (Senior Center).

Awards to participants will be given out immediately follow-
ing the tournament.
