1.0 EXPLANATORY NOTES

These finding aids book is prepared to facilitate the retrieving and use of
records and archival materials related political archive of Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun
Haji Abdul Razak. Various of information can be obtained from both electronic and
non-electronic sources. The list of available materials includes records that related to
a collection of types of images, newspaper, television series, commercial,
cartographic record and many more.

These finding aids book aims to help researcher to find and obtain the desired
material easily. All the materials are listed according to the type of collection that
document simple inventory and description of selected materials. The content of the
finding aids is based on the materials available in the National Archives of Malaysia.

3.0 INTRODUCTION

Dato' Sri Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, a Malaysian
politician, was born on July 23, 1953, and served as the nation's sixth prime
minister from April 2009 until May 2018. He is the son of Abdul Razak Hussein,
another former prime minister. From April 2009 to May 2018. By virtue of his
familial title as the Orang Kaya Indera Shahbandar,

Najib is also one of the Four Noblemen of the Pahang Darul Makmur
(Royal Court). He attended Kuala Lumpur's St. John's Institution for his
elementary and secondary education. He continued on to Malvern College in
Worcestershire, England, and then to the University of Nottingham, where he
graduated with a bachelor's degree in industrial economics in 1974. Najib
Razak returned to Malaysia in 1974 and entered the corporate sector, working

first for Bank Negara Malaysia and then as a public relations manager for
Petronas (Malaysia's state oil company).

He married Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor in 1987. They have two children,
Mohd Norashman Najib and Nooryana Najwa Najib. Nooryana, his daughter,
is married to the nephew of former Kazakhstani President Nursultan
Nazarbayev.

Najib Razak was the chairman of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition and
the president of the United Malays National Organization (UMNO) from
November 2008 to May 2018, when the coalition lost power in the 2018 general
election after controlling Malaysia's government with a parliamentary majority
for more than sixty years. He is known as "Bapa Transformasi."

4.0 CHAPTER
CHAPTER 1: Early Life and Family
Najib was born on July 23, 1953, in the official house of the Pahang State
Secretary in Bukit Bius, Kuala Lipis, Pahang. Najib is the eldest of the six sons of
Malaysia's second Prime Minister, Abdul Razak, and the nephew of Malaysia's
third Prime Minister, Hussein Onn. His younger brother, Dato' Seri Mohd Nazir
Abdul Razak, is the CEO of Bumiputra-Commerce Holdings Bhd, the country's
second-largest lender. By virtue of his hereditary title as the Orang Kaya Indera

Shahbandar, Najib is also one of the Four Noblemen of the Pahang Darul
Makmur (Royal Court).

He attended St. John's Institution in Kuala Lumpur for his basic and
secondary schooling. Later, he attended Malvern College in Worcestershire,
England, and then the University of Nottingham, where he earned a bachelor's
degree in industrial economics in 1974. Najib Razak returned to Malaysia in 1974
and entered the corporate sector, working initially for Bank Negara Malaysia
and then as a public relations manager for Petronas (Malaysia's state oil
corporation). Najib Razak is an enthusiastic golfer who has played with both of
the most recent US Presidents, Barack Obama and Donald Trump. Trump has
called Najib "my favourite prime minister."

Najib married Tengku Puteri Zainah Tengku Eskandar ('Kui Yie') in 1976
and has three children with her: Mohd Nizar Najib (born 1978), Mohd Nazifuddin
Najib, and Puteri Norlisa Najib. He divorced Kui Yie in 1987 and afterwards
married Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, with whom he has two children: Nooryana
Najwa Najib and Mohd Norashman Najib His daughter Nooryana is married to
Nursultan Nazarbayev, the nephew of Kazakhstan's previous president.

Rosmah Mansor was born on December 10, 1951, in Kuala Pilah,
Malaysia. Since 1987, she has been married to Najib Razak. They have two kids.
Previously, she was married to Abdul Aziz Nong Chik. She graduated from the
University of Malaya with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Anthropology
in 1974 and a master's degree in Sociology and Agriculture Extension from
Louisiana State University in 1978. Rosmah began her career as an executive
with Bank Pertanian Malaysia and then as a business development manager
with Island and Peninsular Bhd, a property developer. Rosmah formerly married
Abdul Aziz Nong Chik. Riza Aziz and Azrene Soraya are their two children. She
married Najib Razak in 1987, and they had two children, Nooryana Najwa and
Mohd Norashman, as well as a large amount of cash that Rosmah said she had
accumulated since childhood.

CHAPTER 2: Early Education

By virtue of his familial title as the Orang Kaya Indera Shahbandar, Najib
is also one of the Four Noblemen of the Pahang Darul Makmur (Royal Court).

entered the banking industry, working first for Bank Negara Malaysia and then
as a public affairs manager for Petronas (Malaysia's state oil corporation).

In 1976, Razak's father died unexpectedly, and he was chosen to fill his
father's seat in the lower house of parliament. He became Malaysia's youngest
Member of Parliament when he was elected at the age of 22.The year 2009 will
be recognised for the establishment of Malaysia's first political dynasty. Najib
Tun Razak, the son of Malaysia's second Prime Minister, Abdul Razak, became
the nation's sixth Prime Minister. Najib replaced Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as
Prime Minister on April 3 2009. Dato sri Najib is a person who always think that
education is very important to their people. For example, they had the
memorandum of understanding ceremony between the secretariat of

bumiputera education tour in 2016 and the startegic patners of the
educational was completed by Dato sri Najib Tun Abdul Razak.

CHAPTER 3: Political Career
EARLY IN POLITICS FIELD

After completing his studies, he returned to Malaysia to start a business.
In the early days of his career, he worked for Bank Negara. After that, he went
to work for Petronas, Malaysia's national oil company, as a public affairs
manager. Having only turned 22 his election to parliament made him the
youngest candidate ever elected in Malaysia. Politics came naturally to him as
his family of politicians was prominent in the political arena. He became an
emerging star in Malaysian politics to resolve tensions between the government
and the Pahang region's hereditary ruling class. In the United Malays National
Organization (UMNO), he was hailed as a rising star and was made Deputy
Chief of UMNO Youth.

He was selected to contest Pekan's State Assembly seat in 1982 by Prime
Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. At age 29, he became the Menteri Besar of
Pahang after winning the election with ease. The foundation was established
by him in 1982 to provide funding and scholarships for the youth of Pahang to
access sports and education.

He was appointed Minister of Defence by Dr. Mahathir Mohamad in
1991. As part of the 1993 Malaysian mission, peacekeeping operations were
conducted in Somalia. In 1995, Najib was appointed minister of education after
serving for four years as defence minister. The Ministry was restructured and
cooperation with foreign universities and institutions was encouraged. By
enacting laws to provide greater educational opportunities for Malaysians, he
enacted reforms to ensure teachers receive higher salaries.

In 2000, he was reappointed to the Ministry of Defence for a second
term. Several national security issues came up during his tenure including the
Indian Ocean Tsunami of 2004 and the Bali bombings in the same year.
"Malaysian National Service", a program aimed at promoting tolerance,
teamwork, and community engagement, was implemented while he was
Malaysia's Defence Minister. Although some safety issues later in the program
were identified, the program still drew more than 339,000 Malaysian youth.

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Mahathir's deputy, succeeded him when he
retired in 2004. Following this appointment, Najib was appointed to the position
of Deputy Prime Minister. As chairman, he is responsible for overseeing FELDA,
the Human Rights Commission (SUHAKAM), and the Election Commission. In
addition, he chaired over 28 cabinet committees.

He became the Minister of Finance in 2008. Upon his assumption of
power, Malaysia was reeling under a global economic recession. To stabilize
and accelerate the growth of the economy, he implemented a series of
reforms. Prime Minister Badawi announced his retirement in October 2008,
which led to Najib's election as prime minister in March 2009. To retain power,
Najib had to win the party elections. Najib won the UMNO presidency without
opposition.

On 3 April 2009, Najib became the country's first Prime Minister. In his
speech, he stressed the need for political reform and economic reform. One
of his campaigns focused on national unity and enhancing government
performance, called the 1Malaysia campaign. During his tenure as prime
minister, he introduced a New Economic Model to accelerate Malaysia's
transition into a high-income nation and to increase foreign investment. In his
speech, he mentioned that his government would prioritize education and
health care. According to him, the goal of Malaysia by 2020 was to become a
developed country with a high income.

END OF CAREER IN POLITICS FIELD
Despite a period of expansion and prosperity during his early years as

premier, many scandals marred his later years. In 2015, Najib's image was
demolished by the 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal. Several sections
of the public demanded his resignation after the scandal took a toll on his
political career. in 2018, after losing the elections, he resigned from his position
as Prime Minister of Malaysia.

CHAPTER 4: Retirement
Following his resignation as Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak was

given a onetime payment of RM1 million as per the Members of Parliament
(Remuneration) Act 1980. The Accountant of the Prime Minister’s Department’s
Finance Division 9 (PMD) stated this, and the exceptional grant was issued in
May 2018. In gloss salary Datuk Seri Najib received RM 58,605.15 from April 2009
to May 2008. All payments are made to Dato’ Seri Najib account at Affin Bank
Berhad. As the chief of the claims and remuneration section, Natasha Rahimah
Haryati Mohamad will be responsible for ensuring that the salaries of civil
officials and administrative personnel at PMD are paid.

Pertubuhan Seni Silat Pusaka Gayong Malaysia presented Prime Minister
Dato’ Sri Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak with the Imam Khalifah Agong Gayong
award in 2012. (PSSPGM). The highest honour of the organisation, the Sri Tri
Buana Gangga Simanjakani Chula Sakti, was awarded by Datuk Raja Abdul
Majid Raja Mat Isa, the organization's President. On that day, he stated that the
art of silat gayong required not only exterior and physical power, but also the
transmission of the fighters' spirit of battle and identity from generation to
generation.

Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak was given the
Lifetime Achievement Award by the Global Business Council of the China
Economic Forum (WCEF) today. The prize was given in honour of Najib's brave
actions and contributions in reforming Malaysia, particularly in the economic
change that has resulted in the country's peace and prosperity, according to
the World Council on Economic Freedom.

The King of Bahrain, King Hamad Isa Al Khalifa, will present Prime Minister
Dato’ Sri Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak with the King Hamad Order for
Development in 2017.The honour will be handed to Najib in the Shaikh Hamad
Palace during his three-day official visit to Bahrain, according to the Foreign
Ministry. It is the highest honour awarded by the Bahraini government. From the
photos above we can know that Dato’Sri Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak have
the good relationship with Bahrain since 2013.

For his efforts to promote information and communication technology
(ICT) for sustainable development, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was
awarded the renowned "ICT Award in Sustainable Development."The prize was
awarded during a gala dinner hosted at the United Nations (UN) headquarters
in New York to commemorate the International Telecommunication Union's
(ITU) 150th anniversary. As a result, he is well suited to officiate the ICT award,
as seen above.

5.0 CONCLUSION
In conclusion, it is really vital to care about politics since you should know what is
happening on around you. Also, it is vital to have a say in what is going on around
you. People's political decisions will have a big impact on a lot of people's lives. So
that, we can choose our good leader through the political thing. In addition, the fall
of good leadership will awaken the people to think smarter in the political world. Thus,
if we have good leader our country will be more success, become advance and can
compete with other country. Not just that, we also can achieve national welfare.

We should appreciate all our prime ministry because they have done a lot for
the people and the country. Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak has set up
many people’s aid initiatives such as Br1m. In fact, Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Haji
Abdul Razak ‘s leadership should be used as an example by future leaders. This is
because, he always has a plan to help the people and develop the country. He was
also strong despite many false news and accusations thrown at him throughout his
tenure. When Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak be a leader of the
country, the technologies in Malaysia growing very fast.
