Pandharpur is a leading college in Punyashlok
Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University, Solapur
rendering quality education in Arts, Commerce,
Science and B.Voc faculties. It is established in
1960 with the name Pandharpur College,
Pandharpur in Namdas Maharaj Math with 40
students by Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara
founded by Late Padmabhushan Dr.
Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil with the intention of
providing higher education to students from
rural and ruralban areas who are socially and
economically downtrodden irrespective of their
caste, creed, region and religion in and around Pandharpur city as well as nearby talukas. It was renamed in
1992 as Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Mahavidyalaya, Pandharpur. Initially it was affiliated to Pune University, Pune.
In 1965, it got affiliation of Shivaji University, Kolhapur.At present college is affiliated P.A.H.Solapur University,
Solapur. More than 4000 students pursuing their education from UG to Ph.D. in different faculties.

Due to the efforts of many well wishers and contributors, College has now achieved substantial growth and
development to cater the needs of higher education. It is located at Pune – Pandharpur highway in lush green
campus of 11 acres 37 R. College is now well established having adequate infrastructural facilities viz. ICT
enabled classrooms, auditorium, multi-gym, 400 meters eight lane running track, well equipped and spacious
laboratories, women and men hostels, separate computer laboratories, fully computerized library with adequate
books, competitive examination center, placement cell and career counselling cell.

At present College offers Degree programmes B.Sc. (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Electronics, Botany,
Zoology Statistics, ECS and BCA), B.Voc. (Food Processing and Management), B.A. (Marathi, Hindi, English,
Geography, History, Economics and Political Science), B.Com. (Advanced Accountancy, Advanced Costing,
Advanced Insurance, and Industrial Management), Post Graduate programmes M.Sc. (Analytical Chemistry),
M.A. (Marathi, Hindi, English, Geography, History and Economics) and M.Com. Seven departments (Chemistry,
Physics, Zoology, Geography, History, Hindi and Marathi) have been recognized as Research Centers by
Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar, Solapur University, Solapur.

It also run B.A., B.Com., B.Lib & I.Sc. and MBA courses of Yashvantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University,
Nashik. There is External students sub-centre of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University, Solapur.

College always stick up with the goals and mission of the parent institute. As “Education through Self-help” is the
motto of our parent institution. College runs the Earn and Learn Scheme to support economically needy students
who are eager to continue their education. College is always keen in the organization of student centric
curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. College is champion in Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar
Solapur University, Solapur in athletic games in successively for last seven years. It has bagged prizes and
awards in cultural activities and student magazine 'Karmaveer' at different levels.

College run 25 short term and 25 Skill enhancement courses. At present 30 research students are pursuing Ph.D
course under the guidance of 11 research guides. Research outcomes are notable in the form of papers
published, papers presented. College has a research journal 'Karmaveer Frontier Multidisciplinary Journal.
College has a status of CPE by UGC. DST, New Delhi has recognized the college by sanctioning grant under
FIST. College has been accredited in 3rd cycle with A+ grade by NAAC with CGPA 3.51. College got a status of
Autonomous by UGC from June 2019 for the next 10 years. Recently, college also got RUSA status.

1. ABOUT PARENT INSTITUTE :
Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara was established in 1919 by a great visionary
Padmabhushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil with a motto of “Education through self-help”. It
is one of the leading educational institution in Asia having in all 716 branches which includes
42 Sr. Colleges, 438 Secondary schools, 8 Training Colleges, 42 Primary Schools, 31 Pre-
primary Schools, 80 Hostels, 07 Administrative Offices, 08 Ashram Schools, 02 Industrial
Training Institutes, 01 Rayat Institute of Research and Development (RIRD) and 57 Ancillary
Branches.

2. ABOUT US :
Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Mahavidyalaya, Pandharpur is a leading college, that

renders quality education in Arts, Science and Commerce faculties. It is established in
1960 with the name Commerce faculties. It is established in 1960 with the name Satara,
founded by Late Padmabhushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil. It was renamed in 1992 as
'Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Mahavidyalaya, Pandharpur.

The college is located on Pune-Pandharpur state highway and has a nice campus of
12 acres. it offers facilities as Library, Reading room, Gymkhana and Gym., Boys’ and
Girls’ hostels, Laboratories, Computer center, Ladies room, STD, Xerox, Health-centre etc.
The overall curricular, co-curricular, cultural and social performance of the college is
consistently excellent from the beginning and hence has been accredited with ‘A’ grade by
NAAC in February 2011. It is a leading institute in Solapur University, Solapur. We believe
in excellence & quality education.

which fulfill the academic needs of

B. LABORATORY :

The college has rich, spacious, well equipped
independent laboratories for all classes and
subjects well furnished with scientific instruments,
equipments and modern facilities. There are 24
independent laboratories in the college.

C. HOSTEL :

The college has separate 'Boys' and 'Girls' Hostels
with boarding facilities. Admissions are given as per
the Government rules.

D. GYMKHANA :

The college has physical facilities for national
sports. It has a playground with all sorts of
amenities to meet the needs of the students. The
gymnasium is well equipped with latest instruments
including multi-gym facilities. 'Gymkhana Day' is
celebrated every year to motivate the students.

E. COMPUTER LABORATORY :

The college has Seven computer laboratories well
equipped with 80 computers for B.Sc.,B.Sc.(ECS),
BCA, IT and Computer Science. Beside this each

6. ADMISSION GUIDELINES :
Admissions are as per merit and other norms led down by the University and the Govt. of
Maharastra, from time to time Students are informed to go through the guidelines and
admission notices on the college notice-board, before seeking admission in the college.

6 A. Eligibility for admission :
i) A student passed H. S. C. Examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary

and Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination is eligible for admission in
the college.
ii) The student passed an Examination other than, that, conducted by H. S. C. Board of
Maharashtra State will be admitted provisionally on the condition of confirmation of
eligibility / migration from H. S. C. Board.
iii) Admissions to B.A. / B.Com / B.Sc. Part - I are as per merit and reservation rules.

8 B. REFUND OF FEES / DEPOSITS :
1. If the admission is cancelled within a week, 80% of the fees will be refunded e x c e p t

term fee, registration fee and admission fee.
2. It the admission is cancelled within one month 20% of the fees will be refunded except

term fee, registration fee and admission fee.
3. It the admission is cancelled after one month no fees will be refunded.
4. The amount of caution money and deposits will be refunded if the student claims within

six months after cancellation of admission or completion of the course.

9 A. DISCIPLINE AND CODE OF CONDUCT :
To maintain discipline in the college campus, every student shall be abided by the
following rules and regulations.
i. Every student must have an identity card while entering the college campus.
ii. Students must attend lectures, practicals, internal exams, tests regularly and punctually.

80% ATTENDENCE IS OBLIGATORY.
iii. The dress code is compulsory while entering the college campus.
iv. Students are prohibited from interfering college administration and affect its public

image.
v. The student are expected to take proper care of college property and help in keeping

the premises calm, clear and clean.
vi. The college is not responsible for personal belonging of the students.
vii. Smoking, Chewing Tobacco and gutkha and keeping cell-phone are strictly prohibited in

the college premises.
viii.No student shall collect money by the way of contribution for picnic, trip, visit to some

place, get together or any other activity without the prior permission of the principal.
ix. Students involving in doing unfair means at any examination will be dealt in accordance

with the provision of the Govt. of Maharashtra Act. No. XXXI of 1982 and the
Maharashtra Universities Act. 1994.
x. The matters not covered by the existing rules will rest at the absolute discretion of the
principal.
xi. The Powers relating to the disciplinary action in the college will vest with the Principal

SPECIAL ATTENTION :
I. Student Council of the college will be formed as per MU ACT 1994.
II. There will be no Annual Social Gathering in the college. There will be Annual

Prize Distribution ceremony.
III. If the student willing for admission, is in tangled in ragging, he/she will be denied

the admission or even if it will be found after the admission that the concerned
student was in tangled in Ragging, he /She will be rusticated.

9 B. CELLS AND COMMITTEES :
i. Counseling cell : The cell helps to overcome the student's personal problems, causing

stress and strain.
ii. B. C. Cell : The students belonging to backward classes are guided for admission,

scholarship etc.
iii. ‘Anti, Ragging Squad & Anti Ragging’ Committee.
iv. ‘Anti – Sexual harassment of women’ committee

A separate Grievance Committee is active to solve the students' complaints /
suggestions. Suggestion boxes are installed.
9 C. DISCIPLINARY RULES :

For the purpose of Section 95(5) of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994 the rules of
discipline and proper conduct for the students of University Department, affiliated colleges,
recognized institutions, autonomous college / institutions shall be as follows :
i. As part of discipline, students are required to attend functions celebrating Days of

National Importance.
ii. The students shall attend the classes, practicals and seminars etc. whenever

prescribed, regularly so that the requirements of minimum attendance as prescribed
under the Act, the Statutes, the ordinances and rules / regulations made in that behalf
are fulfilled.
iii. It shall be binding on the part of the students to see that no damage is done to the
property of the concerned institution in any manner.
iv. a) The students shall behave with their classmates, teachers’ authorities and the non-

teaching employees of the concerned institutions in a responsible manner.
b) The student shall behave in a fair and friendly manner in all extra and co-curricular

activities.
c) The student shall participate in Educational tours, Youth festivals and other collective

activities wherever prescribed, in a constructive manner-ensuring fulfillment of the
objectives of the said activity under strict supervision and guidance of the teachers /
officers / authorities of the concerned institutions.

d) It shall be obligatory on the part of the students to make a proper use of the
Laboratory / Library / Study Room and other Common facilities without causing
inconvenience or damage to the other users and the property.

v. The resident students shall be governed by the rules and regulations in respect of
hostel accommodation / official premises as prescribed by the concerned institution.

vi. The students involved in any attempts of common-offs, vulgarism, gundaism, man-
handling, eve-teasing, malpractices or participation in criminal acts shall be liable for
punishment.

vii. Prevention of Ragging in Educational Institutions :
a) The provisions of Anti-Ragging Legislation of the State Government shall govern the
students and / or rules made in this regard from time to time by the concerned
institution.
b) Ragging is any act which violates the dignity of the individual student or is perceived
to violate his / her dignity. Broadly ragging can be categorized in following way -
i) Verbal Ragging ii) Severe Verbal Ragging
iii) Physical Ragging iv) Sexual Ragging

For various types of ragging the punishment such as imprisonment or fine or both is
prescribed with expulsion etc, if found guilty of ragging.
viii. Anti-Ragging Committee / Squad : Anit Ragging squad has been constituted at

University level as per order of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. (D. No. 370/04/XI.-A)
dated 18th, 2007. All Colleges have been constituted Anti-Ragging Committee at
college level. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited.
ix. Sexual harassment Prevention Committees :There are committees constituted for
prevention of sexual harassment. Students can take help of the committee for any kind
of problem of harassment.
x. All powers relating to disciplinary action against students of an affiliated college or
recognized institution not maintained by the University, shall vest in the Principal of the
affiliated college or Head of the recognize institution and the provisions of the foregoing
sub-section including the rules, if any made there under, shall mutains mutandis apply
to such colleges, institution and students therein.
Any breach of the aforesaid rules or any misbehavior on the part of the student shall be
liable to be punished severely in accordance with provisions contained in section 95 (3) (4)
of the Maharashtra University Act, 1994.
