Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Mahavidyalaya, Pandharpur is a leading
college in Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University, Sola-
pur rendering quality education in Arts, Commerce, Science and
B.Voc faculties. It is established in 1960 with the name Pandharpur
College, Pandharpur in Namdas Maharaj Math with 40 students by
Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara founded by Late Padmabhushan Dr.
Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil with the intention of providing higher
education to students from rural and ruralban areas who are so-
cially and economically downtrodden irrespective of their caste,
creed, region and religion in and around Pandharpur city as well as
nearby talukas. It was renamed in 1992 as Karmaveer Bhaurao
Patil Mahavidyalaya, Pandharpur. Initially it was affiliated to Pune
University, Pune. In 1965, it got affiliation of Shivaji University, Kol-
hapur. At present, it is affiliated to Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar
Solapur University, Solapur. At present more than 4000 students
pursuing their education from UG to Ph.D. in different faculties.

Due to the efforts of many well wishers and contributors, College has now achieved substantial growth and development to
cater the needs of higher education. It is located at Pune – Pandharpur highway in lush green campus of 11 acres 37 R. College is now
well established having adequate infrastructural facilities viz. ICT enabled classrooms, auditorium, multi gym, 400 meters eight lane
running track, well equipped and spacious laboratories, women and men hostels, separate computer laboratories, fully computerized
library with ad

Science), B.Com. (Advanced Accountancy, Advanced Costing, Advanced Insurance, and Industrial Management), Post Graduate pro-
grammes M.Sc. (Analytical Chemistry), M.A. (Marathi, Hindi, English, Geography, History and Economics) and M.Com. Seven depart-
ments (Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Geography, History, Hindi and Marathi) have been recognized as Research Centers by Punyashlok

ABOUT PARENT INSTITUTE

Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara was established in 1919 by a great visionary Padmabhushan Dr.
Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil with a motto of ‘Education through self-help’. It is one of the leading educa-
tional institution in Asia having all 716 branches which includes 42 Sr. Colleges, 438 Secondary
schools , 8 training colleges ,42 Primary schools , 31 pre-primary schools , 80 hostels, 07 administra-
tive offices , 08 Ashram schools, 02 Industrial Training Institutes ,01 Rayat Institute of Research and
Development (RIRD) and 57 Ancillary Branches.

Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil . It was renamed in 1992 as ‘ Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Mahavidhyalaya ,
pandharpur.

The college is located on Pune-Pandharpur state highway and has a nice campus of 12 acres . It
offers facilities as library , Reading room, Gymkhana and Gym . Boys and Girls hostels, Laboratories ,
computer centre, ladies room , STD, Xerox, Health-centre etc. The overall curricular , co-curricular,
cultural and social performance of the college is consistently excellent from the beginning and hence
has been accredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC in February 2011 . It is a learning institute in Solapur
University , Solapur. We believe in excellence and quality education.

Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc)–Food Processing and Management

The Department of Food Processing and Management of Karmveer Bhaurao Patil Mahavidyalaya
has established in 2018 under UGC-NSQF scheme,with the approval of UGC an PAH Solapur University Solapur. B.Voc
program focuses specific job roles along with broad based general education .this would enable the graduates complet-
ing B.Voc.to make meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, be-
coming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knlowdge. The department runs three years degree program in Food
Processing and Management.also equipped with all necessary machinery for manufacturing of food product ,in this
mainly spry dryer(used in manufacturing of mike powder ) tray dryer(used in manufacturing of various powder such
as onion, garlic) oven fruit and vegetable cutter ,incubator (used in manufacturing of dhai),hot air oven(used for analy-
sis of water content in food) ,and also have well qualified and sufficient staff.

Across the world, food-processing sector has a large potential for growth and socio economic impact as it leads to
income generation by creating jobs for rural poor and thus reduces the burden on agricultural sector. It also helps in
reduction of wastage, value addition, foreign exchange earnings and enhancing manufacturing competitiveness. This
sector serves as a vital link between the agriculture and industrial segments of the economy. Adequate focus on this
could greatly alleviate our concerns on food security and food inflation.

About Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc)–Food Processing and Management:-

Food Processing and Management is a three year Degree program offering specialization in Fruit & vegetable pro-
cessing, Milk & dairy products and Agro products processing in the I, II & III year respectively with exit levels after each
year such as Diploma /Advanced Diploma.
Curriculum details would include a suitable mix of general education and skill development which are designed for spe-
cific job roles in Food Processing industry. The course includes content which equip skill development component in
the candidate. Each year includes practical as well as theory courses which impart appropriate and relevant knowledge
to the Food Processing industry. The candidate will be exposed to project work and on the job training in the industry
as well.
Various visiting guest faculty from the Food Processing and Management Industry as well as the experienced faculty of
the institute would be sharing their knowledge, information, experience, technology with students.

DISCIPLINE AND CODE OF CONDUCT

To maintain discipline in the college campus , every students shall be abided by the following rules
and regulations.
i. Every students must have an identity card while entering the college campus .
ii. Students must attend lectures , practical's, internal exams, tests regularly and punctually .
iii. 80% ATTENDANCE IS OBLIGATORY.
iv. The dress code is compulsory while entering the college campus.
v. Students are prohibited from interfering college administration and affect its public image.

Students should undergo an In-plant training for a period of 16 weeks during last
semester of the degree program . The program is arranged by the Department of
Food Processing and Management in consultation with the food industries. The
purpose of the program is to get hands-on experience on various aspects of food
industries that form the strong foundation for the young food technologists. The
department will allot students to the industry , in consultation with the industry
concerned . Students should report for the program on the stipulated date . He/
she shall complete this period of 16 weeks . On completion each student should
prepare a project report duly certified by the supervisor in the industry . Conse-
quently , a seminar should be conducted in the department to present the finding
of the project work. The respective project report attested by the head of the de-
partment will be evaluated by the external examiner and a viva voce will be con-
ducted.

The potential of Indian food processing industry is increasing day-by-day tremendously. The formation of
separate ministry by Central Government on Food Processing and Industries shows its increasing im-
portance. The global market knows the potential of India for all required resources for food processing
prevailing in the country. The Indian agriculture is steadily transforming from production oriented agri-
culture to market driven agri business. Equitable agricultural production, processing and management of
post-harvest losses will be the order in new millennium, and here lies the importance of Food Technology

The Rayat Shikshan Sanstha & College : Scholarships, freeships, concessions are made available to the students. Notices
regarding the procedure and types of scholarships, payment of scholarship etc. are displayed on the notice board from
time to time. The college is not responsible if students do not apply before scheduled last date.
