SPIRTUAL PIECE

A Rhema Word

Tell God
Thank You

1 Thessalonians 5:18

In EVERY THING give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

It is easy to lose sight of what is in front of us. It is easy to think we are where we are, because of the path we set for ourselves. Many of
us are living, and taking a lot for granted. We complain about living in an apartment, instead of a house, and there are people taking
shelter on a park bench. We complain about not having what we consider enough food, and there are people starving RIGHT NOW!

Where is our spirit of THANKSGIVING?
Paul is clear with his direction in this passage. In everything give thanks! Not in some things, BUT in EVERYTHING! We are to not only
give thanks, when we have made it through the storm. We shouldn’t wait until all of our bills are paid. We shouldn’t wait until we have
been approved for that car loan. We shouldn’t wait to hear back from that job interview. There is always a reason to utter, THANK YOU!
God has been entirely too good to us. He deserves nothing less than to find a thankful heart in every believer. The Bible, especially in
the Psalms, encourages a thankful heart:

Psalm 69:30, ''I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.''
Psalm 95:2, ''Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.''
Psalm 100:4, ''Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless His name.''

When God wakes us up, we should say…THANK YOU!
When we look back over our life, at what God has brought us through, we should say...THANK YOU!
Knowing that we are only living in this moment, because of God, we should say…THANK YOU!
When we look at the people and things that God has eliminated from our life, we should utter...THANK YOU!
When you are in the midst of the storm, THANK HIM! No matter what is happening in your life, THANK HIM!
God didn’t change because of your circumstance, tell Him…THANK YOU!
I made up my mind, that every time I get a chance, every time I get an opportunity, to say thank you unto God, I am going to open up my
mouth. I am going to tell God, “THANK YOU.” Most people had parents who taught them at a young age, “manners.” If somebody gave
them something, they didn’t just receive it, walk away, and act like you were owed something. The proper response that was taught to
follow, was, “THANK YOU!”
How many times have you helped someone with something and they didn’t say thank you? Think about how that frustrated you. Now
think about how God may feel!

IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS!
IT MAY BE LATE BUT SOMEBODY OUGHT TO SAY, “THANK YOU!”

ELEVATE YOUR GRATITUDE!

Elevate Your Gratitude March 2017
"The Gratitude of Letting Go and Keeping It Moving!"
It takes courage to let go of anything that is no longer honoring who you are as a person.
For some reason, a myth runs rampant that we have to accept what is given to us. This
simply is not true. We do not have to accept anything we do not choose. Each one of us
are Creators and reserve the right to let go of whatever is necessary to keep it moving
unapologetically. I'll gladly take the risk of sounding cliché and remind you that life is
short. Here today and then gone too soon. Why not forgive? Not forget or condone, but
simply let it go because you deserve better. Who is going to give you bliss consistently,
if you do not create it for yourself within the moments? Each moment holds our present,
if we will just let go and keep it moving. Being content in the universal knowing that all
is well anyway. Keep opening your gifts. Each moment is your present. Now do You

and the world a favor... let it go and keep it moving!
Yours in Gratitude,

DAMSEL DIVA TIP of the MONTH

By Jordana Carter

Damsel Diva Tip of the Month:

Damsel In Defense; HelpHer Safety Tip:

Walk This Way (But Not Everyday)… Predictable patterns make the perpetrators planning a
piece of cake. You thought we were gonna say pie. Didn’t you? If you have a walking routine,
you should be changing it up regularly. Plan out different routes that you can take and identify
“safe houses” along the way. These shops or homes will give you a mid-route destination goal
to go to for safety in the event of an attack. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Black Single Mothers and the Child Welfare System examines the struggles women of color face in working with the
child welfare system and how social workers who investigate childhood abuse and neglect can effect positive change.
This book addresses intersectionality and ideological, institutional, interpersonal, and internalized oppression and how it
affects the safety, permanence, and well-being of children. Through research and case examples, the reader will be im-
mersed in a historical perspective of oppression faced by black single mothers involved with social service systems, ex-
amine ways oppression plays out in child welfare supports and services, and discover new integrated methods of ad-
dressing oppression.
