COMMUNITY AWARENESS
Basic Disaster Supplies Kit

To assemble your kit, store items in airtight plastic bags and put your entire disaster supplies kit
in one or two easy-to-carry containers such as plastic bins or a duffel bag.

A basic emergency supply kit could include the following recommended items:
 Water - one gallon of water per person per day for at least three days, for drinking and sanita-

tion
 Food - at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food
 Battery-powered or hand crank radio and a NOAA Weather Radio with tone alert
 Flashlight
 First aid kit
 Extra batteries
 Whistle to signal for help
 Dust mask to help filter contaminated air and plastic sheeting and duct tape to shelter-in-

place
 Moist towelettes, garbage bags and plastic ties for personal sanitation
 Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities
 Manual can opener for food
 Local maps
 Cell phone with chargers and a backup battery

The Gratitude of being The Game-Changer

Are you playing the game of life or are you The Game Changer in your life? There is a major difference. Playing
the game of life simply implies that you go along to get along, kiss ass, never ask questions or challenge the sta-
tus quo and do things against your value system. Playing the game of life is just like being a worker or a vic-
tim...mostly everything that happens to you is under someone else's control. When you value yourself enough to
stop playing the game and become The Game Changer...life opens up in a different way. The Game Changers of
the world are often times mislabeled as trouble-makers, selfish, stubborn and other negative labels that weak-
minded people assign to them. However, the Game Changer does not care what other people label them as be-
cause; The Game Changer defines and owns their self. A person, who is a Game Changer at any given time,
has the authority, strength and belief to cut off from anything that does not serve their highest good. When you
decide to become The Game Changer, you abandon ever being able to make an excuse again. Excuses are for
mediocre people simply playing the game of life. The Game Changers are Bosses. Game Changers take huge
risks that are only guided by the God within. Diddy is a game changer. This man has created over 10 different
names throughout his career that each reflects multi-faceted parts of himself. Mr. Sean Combs has grown, devel-
oped and even killed off parts of himself, in order to be who he is today. Kill is a strong word but so is the truth.
Another Game Changer, by the name of 2pac said it best, "I rather die like a man than live like a coward." Game
Changers have real clear boundaries and do not mind turning the world upside down in order to make it fit them
better. Game Changers do not run from conflict, change or pain...in fact, we run towards it! Game Changers form
and implement solutions. Game Changers change the world simply by being bold enough to be their authentic
selves. This is why there is so much gratitude to be gained by being The Game Changer in your world! The
Game Changers of the world are a rare breed who honors their vision and dreams beyond the limitations of soci-
ety. I got nothing but love, SPECK' and genuine admiration for all of my fellow Game Changers!

child welfare system and how social workers who investigate childhood abuse and neglect can effect positive change.
This book addresses intersectionality and ideological, institutional, interpersonal, and internalized oppression and how it
affects the safety, permanence, and well-being of children. Through research and case examples, the reader will be im-
mersed in a historical perspective of oppression faced by black single mothers involved with social service systems, ex-
amine ways oppression plays out in child welfare supports and services, and discover new integrated methods of ad-
dressing oppression.
