SOO KEE’S SON (MENG CHUAN) 29-B Medan Imbi Speciality: Prawn and Beef Noodles Stanley Hon Meng Chuan’s father, who was affectionately nicknamed “Soo Kee” by his customers, started his noodle shop more than 60 years ago. During his childhood, Hon would help his father at the shop by washing table-cloths, packing takeaway orders, serving tea, firing up the charcoal and pumping the kerosene lamps. Today a chef with his own shop, Hon counts among his many patrons cabinet ministers, artists, actors and tourists who keen returning to his establishment to savour its signature dishes: beef noodles with ginger and spring onion, and jumbo prawn noodles.
