LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

“Mom was in such a better place when we “I so appreciate the ministry
found Otterbein. She was kept safe and clean in of Otterbein! Giving feels

according to her abilities. She was appreciated for

her sense of humor and sweet temperament and
was tenderly and patiently cared for when she Barb Dalrymple and Marie Bowman were happy to make
became unable to do things for herself. For this a donation to help improve the beauty of the apartment
lounge. They even went shopping with Otterbein North
reason, when she passed away, we chose to ask Shore partners to pick out the new furniture. “We had such
loved ones to send a donation to the Otterbein a lovely day looking at new furniture, trying it out and
just laughing and talking. It was extra special when the
ministry in lieu of flowers.” furniture arrived and we were able to enjoy it together.”
The Uhrig Family
Barb Dalrymple
“I was raised with the thought that it is better to give than to
receive. Coming from a family of 12 children I was blessed with
plenty of food and our needs met. When I became a partner at
Otterbein in 1977 and heard about the program for partners
to contribute to benevolent care, I wanted to be a part of it and
bless those who live here and need a little help.”

Anna Justus

“We have been graced by the
love and support of many

people throughout our lives. It is
important to us to be able to help

support others.”
Joe & Karen Borst

“Otterbein Cridersville has cared for Neil, Betsy’s
dad, brother and sister-in-law and Neil’s cousin
and aunt. We were raised to understand the
responsibility to support the things we believe in.
We have a responsibility to give back and support
Otterbein in thanks for the care they provide.”

Neil & Betsy Winget

“Otterbein is our last stop before Heaven! “I came from a family that owned a restaurant, so it

Otterbein North Shore kitchen. I’m fortunate that my
Wes and Phyllis Schenck son, Joe, also a donor, visits me regularly. He knows

upgrade his personal gift.”
Generous donors and volunteers are a vital part of the Otterbein family. They give of their
time, talent and treasure, living out the spirit of Otterbein every day! Ann Glasmire

Financial gifts help provide: “Otterbein has been a wonderful place for us! We
• Benevolent assistance for residents who can no longer pay the full cost of care have made many friends and are close to family.
• Specialized services for residents with Alzheimer’s and their family members We gladly support this ministry.”
• Innovative, multi-dimensional wellness programming
Plus, our many volunteers keep things humming at every Otterbein campus. Residents Tom & Carol Feldman
serve in countless ways—from teaching art classes to hosting events to delivering mail.
And we love the many adults and teens who brighten our communities by providing
companionship, office assistance, yard work and so much more.
