1. Tie up : Bind someone so that they cannot move or escape.
Example:-
>Masked robbers broke in, tied him up and ransacking the house.
>The police have arrested a suspect and they tied him up with handcuffs.

2. Tie in : Relates / Connection between two things.
Example:-
>The police found a fact that might tie in with the murder case.
>‘This bloodstained knife ties in with the murder. We can use it as evidence.’ said detective to
police officer at crime scene.

3. Break out : Escape / Start suddenly (of war, fighting or similarly undesireable things.)
Example:-
>The prisoner break out of his cell.
>The school was evacuated after a fire broke out in the staffroom.

4. Break into : Enter or open a place, vehicle or container forcibly.
Example:-
>The thief was trying to break into someone house last night.
>The security lock will prevent a thief to break into your house.

5. Put away : Put someone in prison / Store something in its usual place.
Example:-

6. Put up with someone : To be willing to accept someone or something that is
unpleasant.
Example:-
>I don’t think I can put up with these people in our home.
>‘I don’t know how you put up with him after what he did to you.’ said Kamal to Azrie.

7. Lock up : Lock all doors and windows of building.
Example:-
>My mom reminded me to lock up the house before I leave the house.
>‘Did you lock up the door before you leave the house?’ asked Mr.Ali to his son.

8. Lock in : Put someone in a place that they can’t get out of.
Example:-
>I locked myself in my own bedroom.
>The police officers locked a thief in jail.

9. Give back : To give someone something that they owned or had before.
Example:-
>‘Give back my wallet, you thief !’ shouted a man after being robbed by
unknown person.
>‘Could you give me back my book?’ asked Sarah to Steve.

10. Give up : Cease making a effort / Admit defeat.
Example:-
>I will never give up after what I have achieved all this time.
>Jimmy was so tired of trying to fix his car that he decided to give up.

11. Get out : Leave a place of confinement / Escape.
Example:-
> Riley will get out of prison in two weeks.
>‘Let’s get out of this horrible place.’ said Ethan Winter.

12. Get away : Escape.
Example:-
>Thieves got away with computer equipment worth RM5000 last night.
>They got away from burning car before it getting worse.
