INTRODUCTION:
Students are required to gather information and design multimedia presentation about the
properties, examples and comparison of composite materials with their constituent materials.
Students must create an object made of composite material using various substances such as
egg trays, cotton wool, plastic or paper, example wyre-reinforced paper mache. This object
should combine at least two constituent materials like metals, glass, ceramics, alloys and others

Murid dikehendaki mengumpul maklumat dan membuat persembahan multimedia tentang sifat,
contoh dan perbandingan bahan komposit dengan sifat bahan asalnya.
Murid perlu membina bahan komposit rekaan daripada pelbagai bahan seperti bekas telur,
kapas, plastik atau kertas, contohnya, “paper mache” diperkukuhkan oleh dawai. Rekaan
tersebut menggabungkan sekurang-kurangnya dua jenis bahan seperti kaca, seramik, aloi dan
bahan komposit.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
1. Understand and appreciate the importance of composite materials in daily life.
2. Reduce the burden of waste by creating composite materials using recycled
materials.
3. Create a creative product of composite materials as a solution to problems in
everyday life.
1. Memahami dan menghargai kepentingan bahan komposit dalam kehidupan seharian.
2. Mengurangkan bebanan bahan buangan dengan merekacipta bahan komposit
menggunakan bahan kitar semula.
3. Merekacipta satu product kreatif sebagai suatu penyelesaian kepada masalah dalam
kehidupan seharian.
INSTRUCTION:
1. All Form 4 Stem A and 4 Stem B students who take chemistry are required to
do a PBL assignment which is to produce a COMPOSITE MATERIAL -
PAPER MACHE and complete a report in folio form.
2. This project is carried out in group (two or three members).
3. Each group is free to choose the ingredients they want to use and the
ingredients to make a PAPER MACHE.

4. The assignment period starts on 09 January 2022 to 20 January 2022. Project
results and DIGITAL FOLIOS (IN GROUP) must be submitted on
20 JANUARY 2022 (THURSDAY).
5. Completed assignments include:
i) COMPOSITE MATERIALS - PAPER MACHE PRODUCT
ii) DIGITAL FOLIO (IN GROUP) - QR CODE
iii) PRESENTATION VIDEO - QR CODE or YOU TUBE LINK
6. The resulting project folio must be WRITTEN IN DIGITAL FORM and sent
along with the PRODUCT.
7. The number of pages of the proposed folio is 12 pages only (excluding the
front page).
8. All the FOLIOS AND VIDEOS MUST BE CONVERTED INTO QR CODE.
