BITS AND BITES

We are proud to have two of our members
awarded the Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) by
the Rotary Club of Sentosa, Singapore.
According to Club Sentosa's Charter
President Michael Quek, the PHF award
was to recognise the contribution and
efforts of both Pearl members towards

Rotary. The two PHF award recipients
are:-
1) Club Community Service Director Tulip
Noorazyze
2) Club Bulletin Editor Norma Apines
The award was presented by DG Dolly
Yeap at the RAMSAR site Likas, and
witnessed by PDG Datuk Hj Zainie Aucasa,
PP Datuk Suzannah Liaw (Assistant
Governor Group14), Club Treasurer Datin
Phyllis Lo, and Club member Azalene
Quadra.

PUBLIC IMAGE CORNER

Public Image Chair We had fun at the Rotary Showcase on
Celestina Chin 16th April 2022, that took place in Suria
Sabah Mall ground floor. Besides Pearl,
Club of Penampang, Club of Likas Bay,
Club of KK Mandarin and Club of
Kinabalu Sutera were among those who
participated in the event. DG Dolly
officiated the event. There was also a
joint-Club blood donation drive that
took place on the second floor of the
Mall. Banners and posters of Club
activities were displayed for the public
to get to know more about Rotary's
purpose.

Our own kiosk showcased all our Club's
signature projects, fellowship events
and other activities through beautiful
colourful posters that immediately tell a
story. Well done to our hardworking
Public Image Chair Celestina who
collaborated with our Club Rotary
Showcase coordinator, Datin Rocy
Chong to come up with all the beautiful
posters.

During the Rotary Showcase, we were able to
visit other Clubs' kiosk and checkout their own
signature projects and activities, one of which
is Club of Penampang's English Language
Literacy Programme, initiated by their former
Club Secretary Jimmy Roy

More pictures of happenings at the Rotary Showcase on 16th April 2022, that took
place in Suria Sabah Mall ground floor, and the joint-Club blood donation drive at the
second floor of the Mall. A few Rotarians signed-up to donate precious blood, among
them was President Audrey Koh from Club of Likas Bay. Our booth also gave out
copies of our Club bulletin issues 1&2, printing courtesy of our President Majella.

I'm finally at the end of my term as the Bulletin Editor for
RY2021/22. So much activities have taken place throughout this
E term and its been a real pleasure to record them in our quarterly

D bulletins. We are saying farewell to our Outgoing DG Dolly Yeap
I and welcoming Incoming DG Joanne Kam for RY2022/23.
For this final quarter April to June 2022, the bulletin is a bit thicker
T as I tried to do justice and include as much pictures as I can, of all

O the happenings that went on.

R Congratulations to our President Majella Marjorie Tan Marquez,
and your team of very efficient Board officers, for a successful
' term RY2021/22. Thank you so much for leading the Club, and also Norma Apines
S for generously printing our quarterly bulletins for this term, for
which I, as Bulletin Editor, am very grateful. Bulletins are not just
pages of pretty pictures. They are important records of events that can be kept as future
C references. There's a lot of hardwork that goes into every issue, and I salute all our Club's
O past Bulletin Editors for their commitment and tenacity in producing our Club bulletins,
despite knowing that not everyone reads them - you are all amazing!!

lots of beautiful healthy plants in PP Datuk Noni's
