maturity, the fruit is yellowish-green and
tastes very sour, hence it is usually eaten
as a relish.
Propagation Method
Bilimbi can be grown from seed, but are mostly propagated
from cuttings and using air-layering (circumposing) techniques
because seed-grown trees do not always inherit the characteristics of the parent.
Carica papaya
Papaya
Family: Caricaceae
Origin: Central America
Description
Papaya, Carica papaya, is an herbaceous perennial in the
family Caricaceae grown for its edible fruit. The papaya plant
is tree-like,usually unbranched and has hollow stems and
petioles.
Propagation Method
Papaya usually grown from seed. Cuttings may be rooted to
preserve a particularly desirable selection. However, branching
must be induced by girdling or decapitation in order to provide
the suckers for rooting.
Bougainvillea (Spectoperuviana Group) 'Mary Palmer'
Bougainvillea
Family: Nyctaginaceae
Origin: South America
Description
Scrambling woody shrub, able to grow up to 4 - 8 m tall and
with a spread of 1 - 1.5 m wide. Stems have thorns that are
found at the leaf axils. Tubular flowers, creamy white,
measuring about 2.5 cm wide and covered by petal-like
bracts which turn from coppery to pink upon maturity.
Propagation Method
Bougainvillea is propagated by cuttings, leaf buds, grafting
method, tissue culture by using young growing meristem
and also by method of sexual or seeds.
Citrofortunella microcarpa
Calamansi
Family: Rutaceae
Origin: Native to Southeast Asia, particularly in the
Philippines and Malaysia
Description
Medium-sized shrub, sometimes a small tree, able to grow
up to 3 - 4 m tall. Fruits are small and rounded, turning from
green to light orange when becoming ripe.
Propagation Method
There are three ways to propagate calamansi: sexual
(seeds), asexual (grafting and budding), and marcotting.
Siling labuyo
Wild chili
Family: Solanaceae

Description
Triangular fruits which grow pointing upwards, small, thin
chili peppers, tend to be a little more rounded (less pointy)
