Nursing Pledge
I solemnly pledge myself before God and in the presence of
this assembly, to practice my profession faithfully. I will not take
or knowingly administer any harmful drug. I will do all in my
power to maintain and elevate the standard of my profession as
both a science and an art. I will hold in professional confidence
all personal matters committed to my keeping. With loyalty I
will endeavor to assist the physician and other interdisciplinary
team members in their work, devoting myself to the welfare of
those committed to my care with compassion. I will constantly
endeavor to increase my knowledge and skills in nursing and to
use them wisely. I will zealously seek to nurse those who are ill
wherever they maybe and whenever they are in need.

I am not ashamed to confess that
I love to be of service to those
who need a woman's help. And
wherever the need arises—on
whatever distant shore—I ask no
greater or higher privilege than
to minister to it.
