ON THE COVER … We have found in the past 24 years of publishing THE ACCELERATOR that
this area is a hot bed for Camaros. One of the fan favorites for sure! Especially the 1969! John Trotter
grew up in the Chattanooga area and with his paychecks from his first“real”job thirty-nine years
ago he bought his dream car, this 1969 SS Camaro! It was originally a red/black stripe/black vinyl
top variety. After driving the car for a while, he had the top removed and the car repainted (original
Garnet Red) and eventually put on the Torque Thrust wheels..otherwise, the car is like he got it from
its’ original owner. It has a L48, 350 cubic inch engine with a M21 Muncie close ratio tranny. It has
a clock, tachometer, console w/gauges, front disc brakes, rear window defogger, 12 bolt posi, front and
rear spoilers and a dealer installed cowl induction hood. He drives and enjoys this car, as it should
be!!! Thanks so much John for sharing your story and your fine ride with us. A big thanks also to our
