Part 3, the last part of the speaking paper, takes about 4 – 5 minutes. 2. As the name suggests, it’s a discussion part and students need to discuss and communicate with your partner. You can either agree, disagree, add more points, or elaborate and give examples for your partner’s opinion/idea. 3. Students are required to compare and contrast the ideas/points/bubbles given, together with their respective partner. Divide with the partner. 4. Students also need to keep the interaction going on. It is encouraged that students comment/response/react to the partner’s points/ideas. 5. Towards the end, don’t forget to make a decision together. Students must decide together, either both students come to an agreement OR they can remain agree to disagree. It’s all up to students’ communication skill, really. 6. Something to recap:- Ø Use sentence connectors to help you to pursue the conversation/discussion. Ø Focus on yourself, your partner and the topic. Keep on discussing and don’t mind the teachers in front of you. They’ll only listen. Ø Remember, when it is time where the interlocutor asks you to decide together, you can begin right away. There is no 20 seconds or 1-minute waiting time
