her ten-year-old son. Then she
lost him as well. With nowhere
to go and no prospects in sight,
she says, “I was unable to care
for him. Physically, spiritually,
mentally and emotionally, I was
just bankrupt.”
Searching for a way to restore
what she had lost, Deonne found
the New Orleans Mission. “It was
just such a relief,” she recalls. In
addition to having her physical
needs met, she was surrounded by
“faith, hope and love.”
