How to create a graph using Excel
This tutorial shows how you can create a graph in Excel 2007. If you have an early version of Excel, the screen
might look a little bit different.
1. In an Excel spreadsheet, enter your stock closing price for six consecutive weeks. In the first column
enter the dates and in the second column enter the closing price.
2. Select the data. Click on the Insert tab. Select Line Chart.
3. The graph will open in your spreadsheet. With the graph selected, you can use the Chart Tools ribbon
to edit your graph appearance, such as colors, titles, borders, legends and more. The graph is selected
when a box appears around it.
4. To insert the graph into your report, select the graph, right-click and choose Copy.
5. Go to your report, insert the cursor in the point you want to add your graph, right-click and choose
Paste.
