Generation 4 Displays Gaining Momentum

The 4600 CommandCenter display first appeared in the 7R and 8R series tractors back in $9,340 first year cost
2014 and you need to understand the development of this display as you decide how it will fit with a 4640
into your operation and work with your equipment. The 4600 started out as an armrest display
for tractor settings such as hydraulics, transmission, HVAC, etc. This display was capable of $8,495 - With AutoTrac and Documentation
running AutoTrac initially but most tractors already had a 2630 on the cornerpost to handle all
those important functions so the 4600 was rarely used for GreenStar applications. However, $850/Year – Adds Section Control, Data
many operators were using it as a secondary screen to watch air seeders and planters, but this Sync, RowSense and In-Field Data Sharing
also created conflict between the two displays. Each start of the tractor had the possibility of
changing screen setup or even communication between the tractor and implement. Software $12,395 first year cost
did improve this relationship over time but the 4600 eventually needed to stand on its own and with a 2630
run everything.
The 4600 CommandCenter was introduced in the 6R and 9R series tractors in 2015 and $9,395 - With AutoTrac and Documentation
then, with a Premium 1.0 Activation, any 4600 screen could run AutoTrac, Section Control
and Document as applied maps. The next chapter in the life of the 4600 began and operators $3,000 – Adds Section Control Permanently
undertook the task of learning a new interface and gave up the old reliable 2630. This also
created a shortage of real estate in situations with one or more implement pages. The Gen 4 List of Features and Benefits:
Extended monitor was the answer for this issue and now the era of two compatible Generation
4 displays operating both the tractor and GreenStar applications had begun. As with all change, • Larger more responsive touchscreen
there were growing pains and the 4600 underwent software upgrades to fix issues and adapt • Boundary creation from coverage
to needs that customers encountered. During this process some customers were dealing with • 4 video inputs
mixed fleets, some GS3 2630’s and some Generation 4 displays. Since these two versions • More run pages and easier configuration
have a different interface, operators faced the challenge of keeping up with two systems while • Friendly and easy to use monitor
switching back and forth between machines. • AEF ISOBUS compatible display
The 4640 Universal display was introduced in 2017 as the answer for customers who • Performance Tuning for Section Control
needed a display that could move from machine to machine. Now with a replacement for • Boundary Fill Track
the 2630, operators had the option of running Generation 4 displays in all of their equipment. • Compatible with Seedstar 4HP electric
Upon introduction, this display required an annual subscription for any GreenStar application drive planters
to function. This concept of paying annually for a subscription discouraged sales of the 4640,
because producers had previously purchased and owned so called subscriptions in the form of
a permanent Activation on a display. This has changed recently and as of April 2018, the 4640
will come standard with AutoTrac and the ability to Document as applied maps - permanently.
This will give you the basis of what you need for most operations while giving you the flexibility
to upgrade to more features by purchasing bundled subscriptions when you need them. The
Premium 3.0 subscription will add section control, rowsense, and in-field data sharing. While
the Advanced Automation 1.0 subscription includes the features AutoTrac Turn Automation and
AutoTrac Implement Guidance (passive guidance).
The 4600 CommandCenter was added to the S700 Series combines and R series sprayers
in 2018. This was also the introduction of the V2 server which runs the CommandCenter
display. The 4640 contains a V2 server and is capable of running Premium 3.0 and Automation
1.0. However, all the 4600 CommandCenters prior to 2018 will require a V2 server upgrade to
operate the latest activations or update software beyond what was available in 2017. As you
can see there are several factors to consider when transitioning your machines from GS2/GS3
displays to Generation 4. Both the 2600 and 2630 still offer the basic values with AutoTrac and
Section Control and the 2630 also adds wireless connectivity and proven compatibility with
most of what John Deere and GreenStar offers. At the same time the 4600 and 4640 continue
to race ahead with new features and conveniences to meet the demands of the ag industry.
Contact your CTI sales team to help you navigate through this transition period and determine
how the Generation 4 family of displays can fit into your operation.

want to mention a few resources and topics to keep your focus in this hectic

As we head into the season there are many resources to help you Engine with Reman John Deere

small. Second, if possible use a residual herbicide in the tank mix for your
post applications. Keep weeds from emerging in the first place. Thirdly,
commit to a zero-tolerance policy, especially for pigweeds. Do not let any
go to seed. Their ability to reproduce prolifically means one escape that is
resistant to herbicides creates an explosion of new resistant pigweeds in
just one year. You can’t afford to let these weeds produce seed.
Finally, for those planning a sidedress N application for your corn or
sorghum, we have the 360 SoilScan™ and we can test to determine exactly
how much N to apply for the remainder of the season. The benefit to this
will be greatest where you can delay your sidedress application either by
fertigating or by use of a drop like the 360 Y-Drop®. You still have time to
outfit a sprayer or toolbar with the 360 Y-Drop® so that you can postpone
making your final N rate decision. Pushing your sidedress N application to
late vegetative stages allows you to gauge your crop potential before your
last major input, granting you the flexibility to push hard or to pull back.
Ultimately, the combination of an in-season N test with a late application
allows you to increase your nitrogen use efficiency and get a better return
on your N investment.

More bales. More benefits. A420R.

Designed exclusively for John Deere 7, 8, 9 and READY TO REVOLUTIONIZE
Zero Series Round Balers, the Plus2 Accumulators THE WAY YOU BALE?
are the industry’s first fully integrated round bale
accumulators. “If you can get those bales to one side
of the field where you can get them without
Time, Cost, and Crop Savings
driving across, that’s my big advantage.”
From flat plains to rolling hills, the Plus2
Accumulators gives you the ability to group bales CONTACT YOUR LOCAL SALESMAN FOR MORE INFORMATION.
where and when you want. Strategically place up
to three bales either in lines or small groups in a
flat area of your field, cutting your pickup time
by as much as 50%. That reduction in pickup
time translates to an approximate savings of up
to $1.00 or more per bale in reduced logistics
costs. And when you control the placement, you
control field impact.
Aligning bales for quick collection means
less wheel traffic, which helps reduce field
compaction and protects regrowth from
multiple passes. So in addition to saving time and
money, you’re saving your crop yield for your
next cutting.

Crop Feeding Enhancements
Feed Drum Anti-Wrap Kit - This kit is recommended for tall, damp crop conditions
to reduce drum wrapping. The attachment consists of two brackets that mount
near the outer edge of the feed drum and reduce the likelihood of crop wrapping
the drum.
Center Section Seal Kit - This kit minimizes grain loss when direct-cutting canola
and can be utilized for other small grain crops with up to 45 percent decrease in
losses from the center feed section compared to previous models.
