FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT’S DESK!
The course is up and running and came through the winter in good shape!
We have just received a delivery of bun-
ker sand and will begin edging the bunker
faces and adjusting the depth of the sand
in the traps. We have been using the same
type of sand to reload the bunkers for the
last 25 years. This assures that the
playability of the bunkers is consistent.
The sand depth in the traps should be
about four inches.
We will begin work on the forward tees
on holes 6,7,9, and 13 soon. When the ir-
rigation for these tees has been installed
we will finish grade them and sod them,
hopefully they will be ready around Me-
morial Day for play.
May 22nd we are scheduled to Dry-Jet
the putting greens. This is a program we
used from 2005 to 2012. We will use
three machines to inject about 30,000 lbs.
of sand into the greens which will have a
dramatic effect on the soil profile of the
greens and help firm them up. There will
be little disruption to the playing surface
and they will be playable shortly after the process with a little clean up.
See you on the course!

From Juan’s Desk:
Well, I got to play, if you can call it that, our golf course last Sunday and the truth is that it is really
coming along beautifully! The best I had seen it in the 14 years I had been a member at Chippanee!
Our restaurant Specials have become the talk of the club! Our chefs are really putting their best effort to
please you with each and every one of them and IT WORKS! We may have sometimes members disap-
pointed because we run out of specials, but, that is part of having specials I guess! It is a limited number
of them!
Please remember to watch the 6 minute video
on line if you think you may want to try out the
new Golf Boards that we will be trying out for
two months at Chippanee! Gary just gave you
the link in the previous page. They really are a
lot of fun!
For Friday, “Cinco de mayo”, we are having
Mexican food Specials! Shredded Beef Flauta,
Chicken Mole, Beef & Bean Chimichanga,
Tortilla Crusted Halibut and lots of Margaritas!
Derby Day is already here! Please make your reservations! Great party on May 6th! Bring your Sunday
best and your best hat!
Bring your Mom to Chippanee on Mother’s Day as well! This one is also a popular event! Make sure
you tell us how many mothers are coming in your party!
One last thought this month. We accommodate those golfers with some mobility problems by providing
“red flags” and allowing them to get a little closer to the greens. Please respect your golf course and do
not pass the marked areas. Also, please remember that there are NO GOLF CARTS through par 3’s fair-
ways!
THINK CHIPPANEE FIRST!

FROM OUR CHEF SCOTT!
Happy Springtime from our Foodservice Department,
Here we go again!
The golf course is open and the weather is warming. Time to fire up the grill and get
rolling. Our first golf outing is upon us and this means the season has begun. I love the
Spring for a couple of reasons, of course one is that it is the end of the blustery weather,
but mostly for the start of the growing season. Yeah, the blooming trees makes us all snif-
fle a bit, but that is a sign of rebirth and better things to come. Soon we’ll start planting our
vegetable gardens and reward
ourselves with the fruits of our
labor.
The kitchen crew has been
busy this past month focusing on
getting the kinks worked out be-
fore the crazy days are upon us.
Organization is key to our suc-
cess. Every employee in our
kitchen possesses the skills to
produce a great product with
guidance from our Sous Chef Ste-
ve Langley and I. The trick is
speed and attention to detail.
Some times our wait staff will
come to us and say “I have a VIP
table and make sure everything is perfect”. Our kitchen staff doesn’t necessarily under-
stand this concept. We treat all of our guests as VIP’s because “Hello”, you are. I realize
that sometimes the lack of focus gets the better of us which can result in a meal that lacks
perfection. This focus is mostly due to communication between customer, front of the
house staff and our cooks. When placing an order please be specific with any special
needs, whether it maybe the temperature to which you want your steak or if you have any
changes to the dish you order. As for our wait staff, they would want nothing less than to
please you as we do. This is all about working out the kinks. We are excited for a new sea-
son at Chippanee. Let’s make this the best one ever!
To all the golfers out there, welcome back to our beautiful course. Hope you all bet-
ter your handicaps and make time to stop in and have a quick bite at the bar. We’ll be ready
for all of you “VIP’s”
Your Personal Chef, Scott Thompson
From Ron LeFebvre’s Desk!
It sure is getting busy around here! Having joined the Chippanee family in late October of last
year, I haven’t really lived the true country club experience until now! It’s like someone flipped a switch! We
have quite a few big events coming up this month, Cinco de Mayo, Derby Day, Mother’s Day and Cajun Ray
on the 27th.
Everyone celebrates Cinco! And we’ll do our part by providing you some great margaritas or for
the heartier souls, some serious shots of tequila on
this festive day. Just don’t go overboard because just
24 hours later you’ll need to trade-in your sombrero
for your Kentucky Derby hat! At the bar, we will
have some very fresh mint Juleps for you to sip and
we’ll also have, the official bourbon of the Kentucky
Derby, Woodford Reserve. Did you know that there
are more racehorses in Woodford County Kentucky
than people? Or that there are more barrels of bour-
bon in the entire state than people also? All true, so
it’s no wonder that Woodford Reserve is the official
bourbon of the event dubbed as “the most exciting
two minutes in sports!” I hope to see many of you for this great race!
On the subject of tasty beverages, we will soon have Leinenkugal Summer Shandy on tap and
cans for the beverage cart. As soon as the current keg of Fat Tire runs out, we’ll make the switch. Some re-
quests have been made to add Yuengling Light to the bottle line-up so after the regular version runs out, this
will happen also.
Two of our bartenders have come up with specialty cocktails to whet your whistle. Brittany J. has
created a blood orange martini that is amazing and if you’re not a martini person, she can take that same reci-
pe and turn it into the Chippanee Cooler. It is very refreshing and perfect for summer days and nights on the
patio! Our newest bartender, Tina, creates a white chocolate martini that is like dessert in a glass! Be sure to
give of these adult beverages a try on your next visit.
We’ve dusted off the beverage cart and it’s been seen out and about lately. We’re adding some
wine spritzers to its inventory very soon so be sure to ask for them when you see Kathryn delicately maneu-
vering the cart path moguls!
That’s it for this month and as always, I look forward to seeing you all out on the course or in the
Grill Room enjoying your home away from home!
Salute! Ron
