Preface Praise be to Allah, God Almighty for His mercy and grace, so that the writer can complete the teaching material. I don't forget either to say shalawat and salam that may always be poured out to the Great Prophet Muhammad SAW, because of his blessings, we are able to get out of darkness towards a brighter path. Meanwhile, I have finished making our teaching material entitled 'Descriptive Text' in my best possible way so that it has a benefit to readers who need information and knowledge about Descriptive Text. In this teaching material, the meaning and examples of Descriptive Text are written which become an alternative guide for students and teachers who study the descriptive text. I realize that there are still many shortcomings and mistakes and of course far from perfect about this teaching material. What is Descriptive Text? Descriptive Text is a text which says what a person or a thing is like. Its purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place, animals or thing. In a broad sense, description, as explained by Kane (2000: 352), is defined like in the following sentence: "Description is about sensory experience—how something looks, sounds, tastes. Mostly it is about visual experience, but description also deals with other kinds of perception."
But in particular, the descriptive text is, “…… is a text which says what a person or a thing is like. Its purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place, or thing.” So, it can be said that this descriptive text is a text that explains about whether a person or an object is like, whether its form, its properties, its amount and others. The purpose of the descriptive text is clear, that is to describe, represent or reveal a person or an object, either abstract or concrete. What is Descriptive Text?

Generic Structure of Descriptive Text 2 DESCRIPTION Contains a description of something such as animal, things, place or person by describing its features, forms, colors, or anything related to what the writer describes. 1 IDENTIFICATION Contains about the introduction of a person, place, animal or object will be described. WHEN WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT, THERE ARE SOME GENERIC STRUCTURES (ACTUALLY NOT MANDATORY) FOR OUR WRITING TO BE TRUE. THE ARRANGEMENT IS:
Language Feature of Descriptive Text Specific participant: has a certain object, is not common and unique (only one). for example: My Lovely Bird, My Cat, My Rabbit, Boo my Dog. The use of the adjective (an adjective) to clarify the noun, for example: a cute cat, a lovely puddle , a beautiful golden fish, etc. The use of simple present tense: The sentence pattern used is simple present because it tells the fact of the object described. Action verb: verbs that show an activity (for example, run, sleep, walk, sit etc.

My Lovely Cat I have a stray cat as my pet. He is really playful, He loved to play with me and the new things he found. He has cream fur, his fur is so soft and I like to rubs it for him. He has a long tail. He likes to play with it. He is also always try to catch his tail sometimes. I also like to hold him in my hand, when i hold him like that he will fall asleep.
My Dog My dad bought me a dog on my birthday. It is a male Shiba Inu dog. I really love him as my pet. His name is Jiji. He has brown fur. His fur is really soft and he likes to be rubbed on his belly. He has a long tail and big body. I always take him for walk around because he really like it. Jiji is already as the part of our family.
My Rabbit I have a rabbit. His fur is white and has black spots. He has long ears and a short tail. He also has cute black big eyes. My rabbit likes to eat carrot and other vegetables. When I release my rabbit out of his cage, he used to jump everywhere and hard to catch. So, I could just put him on his cage because I’m afraid that he might running away. I don’t wanna lost my rabbit because I love him very much.
