Kopivosian and Greetings from JCI Intan,

Just a blink of an eye, we are almost entering
the end of quarter 3. This quarter is a busy
yet fulfilling months for JCI Intan. As
president of JCI Intan, i feel so grateful and
blessed to see the enthusiasm and
involvement of my BOD and members in our
various projects and events.

Finally, we have successfully organized our
flagship project which is the Youth leadership
Training in August and to make it even
interesting, we managed to organize 3 other
impactful projects at the same time, making
it incredible 4 in 1 project at the same place
in a short period of time.

I would like to thank my Board of Directors
and members for their unending support
towards me throughout my journey as a
president. To my past presidents, thank you
for your patient and guidance toward me
along for these 9 months.

I hope I can inspire more members and new
members to create positive change in
themselves and elevate them to a greater
height!

Lastly, I hope you will enjoy reading our third
quarter E-Newletter and see you in 2022

JCI Intan is a non-governmental
organisation based in Kota Kinabalu,
Sabah, Malaysia. We were founded
in 1975, and we have been an active
member of JCI Malaysia since then.

Our mission is to provide
development opportunities that
empower young people to create
positive change in their
communities, businesses, and
around the world. We are dedicated
to developing our members as
leaders who give back to their
communities through volunteerism,
leadership training, and social
responsibility activities.

Our organization believes in four
pillars: personal development,
business growth, community service

KARNIVAL SAMBUTAN
HARI BELIA NEGARA 2022

JCI Intan members attended Opening Ceremony of “Karnival
Sambutan Hari Belia Negara 2022” at Padang Pekan Tuaran,
Sabah. The opening ceremony was officiated by our Prime
Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

It was a great honour for us to be able to celebrate Hari Belia
Negara in Sabah with other youth organisations.

The Book Fairies Campaign




On 27th August 2022, JCI Intan Youth Leadership training: Make it
Happen, Make it Matter was held at Don Bosco Children’s Home,
Bundu Tuhan, Ranau. We received a total of 60 participants from the
age group of 5 to 21 years old. With JCI Senator Safarina Wasli as our
Head Trainer and assisted by PNP JCI Senator Teresa Alberto the
program run smoothly. Our aim is to improve the leadership skills of
the youth. This year we choose Make it Happen, Make it Matter as a
theme because regardless of what stops you from achieving more,
one thing is certain -- making things happen will start with you. As
you shift your current state-of-mind, understanding that you are in
the driver's seat, you quickly realise that anything is possible.

Besides Youth Leadership training, JCI Intan together with Chanteek
Borneo Gallery and CMAC Consultancy initiated a “Back-to-School”
Project. In this project, Chanteek Borneo Gallery and CMAC
Consultancy Group has generously donated stationaries consist of
Scientific Calculator, Dictionaries, Clear Folders and Pencil Colours to
the kids. Past President Anne Antah, the pioneer of Chanteek Borneo
Gallery had also give them a motivational speech to all the
participants to encourage them to do better in their studies. After her
speech, toothbrush and sanitary pad donated by Kim Teck Cheong
Consolidated Berhad were handover to Sr Clarice George for the Don
Bosco Resident daily usage.

After dinner, as part of The Book Fairies Campaign our past president
Jean Ivy Denis conducted a story telling session. The title was the
wolf and the lamb, the moral of this story is: There is no believing a
liar, even when he speaks the truth. Then, we presented bookshelf,
books donated by the community
It was a very satisfying weekend spending time with the Children of
Don Bosco because service to humanity is the best work of life.
Congratulations to President Raewyn Jonney, YLT + “Back-to-School”
Project OC Jane Evytha Denis, and The Book Fairies Campaign OC
Majoree Muis for completing the project successfully.

VISIT

Agro Tourism Business

Visit on 28th August 2022.

We went to Desa Cattle

Farm, Kundasang and

Farmville, Kundasang. The

purpose of this visit is to

gain exposure in agro

tourism business

prospects and

opportunities and to gain

more insights into agro

entrepreneurship.

After that, we visited Y.B.

dilantik merangkap Ketua
Srikandi Bersatu Bahagian
Ranau at her home. We
thanked her for the
funding and support she
gave to us for the Youth
Leadership Training held
at Don Bosco Children’s
Home, Bundu Tuhan,
Ranau.

JCIM INSPIRE

JCI Intan and JCI Luyang has
successfully organised JCIM Inspire on
11th September 2022. It was held at JCI
Intan Secreteriat, Lintas. National Vice
President, Regina Ngu has invited 2022
JCIM National Secretary General, Zelt
Kueh as Head Trainer. He was assisted
by Dr Jeremy Tong, 2022 JCIM Area
Sabah Secretary, Jack Lee Vun Zac 2022
JCIM Taskforce Secretary, Bernice Chin
2022 JCIM Area Sabah Business
Development Director, and Wilson Gan
2022 JCIM National General Legal
Counsel. This course has inspired 26
JCI members and 3 new potential
members.

JCI INTAN DONATION TO
SABAH CHESHIRE HOME

Sabah Cheshire Home & Services is a registered non-profit
organisation, which provides care for persons with disabilities to help
them to live independently, by promoting and implementing
independent living in exercising their rights.
In August this year, Sabah Cheshire Home sought financial donations
and support to aid their daily operational cost from the public.
Therefore, JCI Intan took the initiative to collect donations among
our members and associate members to help them.
On 11th September 2022, JCI Intan Board of Directors with JCI
Senator Teresa Alberto visited Sabah Cheshire Home to hand over
our collection to Madam Jennifer Liew, Sabah Cheshire Home
Manager. Madam Jennifer has briefed us about their services and
difficulties at this time.

JCI SABAH LEADERS RUN

The JCI Sabah Leaders Run was organised on 4 September
2022 at Bukit Padang. It was a joint event organised by four
LO leaders in Sabah: JCI Intan, JCI Tanjung Aru, JCI Kota
Kinabalu, and JCI Luyang.

KK CITY CLEAN UP V1
@Jalan Kilang Kolombong

JCI Luyang organised their first night event of the year, KK City Clean
Up V1. It was held at Jalan Kilang, Kolombong. As the citizen of Kota
Kinabalu, It's our responsibility to keep our city clean and tidy, and we
can do this by simply picking up trashes on the sidewalks and streets. So
let's play our part together, be the young active citizen.
JCI Intan LO President shown her support by joining the activity to be
part of the team to make the city a cleaner place to live in.
