If you do not bring all of the above-listed documents to the entrance exam, you will

documents; photocopies are all that is required and the copies will not be returned to you.
However, you must have the originals available for inspection, if requested. If you are
unable to obtain any of these items because they no longer exist, you must submit written
documentation from an appropriate official that indicates such. DO NOT submit these
documents to us prior to the exam date.

.PHYSICAL EXAM DOCUMENT.

Because personal injury and property damage could occur while taking the physical
ability test, we require that you fully complete DART’s Physical Fitness Test Waiver and
have it notarized. You must bring this original document with you when you attend the
entrance exam. If you do not bring this completed form to the entrance exam, you
will not be allowed to participate.

Once you obtain all of the above-listed items, you are eligible to register to attend our
next scheduled entrance exam, which is comprised of a physical ability test and a written
test.

EXAM INFORMATION GUIDE

.PHYSICAL ABILITY TEST.

The physical ability test will be conducted at DART Police Department Headquarters.
The sit-ups and push-ups will be conducted inside, and the 300 meter run will be held
outside in the parking lot, regardless of weather on the testing day.

The requirements for our physical ability test are available on our website at:

www.dart.org/about/dartpolice/docs/physicalabilitytest.pdf. Please review this

information carefully as soon as possible so that you can adequately prepare. You will

need to dress appropriately (i.e., workout clothes and athletic shoes) to participate in the

physical ability test. Inappropriate attire includes: tank tops, cleavage revealing tops for

women, short shorts, sandals, etc. Applicants who are not dressed appropriately will not

be allowed to participate in the test. You are also responsible for bringing your own

drinking water, sports drink, or snacks; none will be provided for you

Applicants who pass the physical ability test will be eligible to attend the written test.

.WRITTEN TEST.

The written test will be administered on the same day after the physical ability test. The
written test will be given at the DART Police Department Headquarters.

The study guide for our written exam is available on our website at:
www.DART.org/about/dartpolice/docs/studyguide.pdf. Please review this information
carefully as soon as possible so that you can adequately prepare. Electronic devices (cell
phones, calculators, etc.) will not be allowed in the room where the written test is
administered.

The written test takes about two hours. At the conclusion of the written test, applicants
who passed the exam will need to complete a polygraph questionnaire and other
paperwork that will take about thirty minutes to one more hour.

.DART POLICE HEADQUARTERS LOCATION.

DART Police Headquarters is located at 2111 S. Corinth Street Road in Dallas. If you
will be using a GPS device or an online mapping program for directions to our location,
please be advised that most of them are inaccurate if you just use our address of 2111 S.
Corinth Street Road as your destination. While this address is correct, many mapping
systems place this address just outside of downtown at a metal scrap yard, which is
incorrect. We are located at the Illinois Train Station, which is not directly on the corner,
but it is near the major intersection of Corinth and Illinois, as well as the intersection of
Corinth and Denley. The minor intersection of Denley and Louisiana is at the entrance to
our building. If you use any of these intersections as reference points, you will find us
easier. A map of the area, as well as the designated parking at DART PD HQ, is
available on our website at
http://www.dart.org/about/dartpolice/docs/maptoDARTPDHQ.pdf.
