A Book to Learn Languages

Welcome to

The series revolves around a bug host named Lingo and his family of bugs, who each
specialise in a different language. At the request of children, Lingo and his team travel around
the UK to perform a Big Bug Show using one of their star performers. In each episode, the
chosen bug searches around for props required for their act, introducing potential objects in
their respective language, before bringing them back to Lingo so they can perform their Big
Bug Show in front of the delighted preschool children.

What is

?

‘The Lingo Show’ introduces different languages to a pre-school
audience, sprinkled with a bit of culture. Starring ‘Lingo’ and his
bug friends, each representing a different language, they enlist
your child to help prepare for the ‘Big Bug Show.’ Through a series
of playful activities, the goal is to learn new words in context and
then sing along to the finale song, featuring those words. ‘The
Lingo Show’ applies CBeebies’ values of ‘learning through play’, to
make learning languages fun and exciting for your child.

Activities

After being greeted by Lingo, who introduces
his bug family, your child is prompted to
choose one of the bugs, and its associated
language. Your child will then be guided by
Lingo and encouraged and entertained by the
chosen bug whilst playing the activities,
learning new words in the chosen language
and getting ready for the ‘Big Bug Show’ finale.
