EXPANSION AND WHAT IT

MEANS

The timeshare industry is always changing. The biggest stories lately have
been timeshare companies expanding and acquiring other companies. As
examples, Hilton Grand Vacations has acquired Diamond Resorts, and Welk
Resorts will now become Hyatt Residence Club properties. The acquisitions
and changes add up to millions in dollar value, with an equity value of $1.4
billion in Hilton acquiring Diamond, and $430 million in the sale of Welk
Resorts to Hyatt. That will bring the actual number of wholly owned Hilton
Grand Vacations Club resorts to 150. The Hyatt Residence Club wholly
owned properties will number 28. In numbers alone, that is a big addition to
both Hilton and Hyatt and it represents significant dedication to the timeshare
industry by a couple of what have been known as hotel giants in the industry,
and upscale names at that. You already have famous hotel names in the
timeshare industry, such as Wyndham, Marriott, and Holiday Inn. That tells
