take this opportunity to thank them profusely for providing a chance to
showcase the talents and achievements of our department students and
faculty. We would also like to thank them for their constant support and
patience through the days of making this newsletter.

Our Principal, Dr. Sanjay Chitnis and Vice Principal, Dr. B Narasimha Murthy
have left no stones unturned in making this journey an enjoyable one for us at
the Editorial Board. We would like to thank them for their undying support,
encouragement and for giving us the freedom to build our ideas and carry them
forward.

mentoring of Dr. H N Shankar, Dean, Academics and
Research, the making of this newsletter would have been a lot more difficult!
We are extremely grateful to him for his guidance.

Our sincere thanks to Prof. B Rajendra Prasad Reddy, Chief Coordinator of
Ma
effectively bridging the gap between the Newsletter Committee and the
Management.

The faculty of department of Mechanical Engineering have been nothing less
than supportive. We would like to thank all faculty members for helping us
collect the required data without which this newsletter would not have been
possible.

Last but definitely not the least; we would like to thank all the students of
department of Mechanical Engineering for being enthusiastic about the
newsletter. Without their contributions, this newsletter would not have been
possible! Our sincere gratitude goes out to all of them.

We pray that this first edition of MachinEdge will set expectations and

SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS
(SME)

ver since its inception, the club has always aimed to connect students
with industries and professionals as well as encouraged interactions
between students with
opportunities to grow beyond the classroom. Students have the opportunity to apply
their education to real-world projects alongside experienced professionals. In
addition to developing technical skills, members experience new work environment
and create personal relationships with the people of the partnering industries. The
club has many activities throughout the academic year that are geared towards
extended learning.
Goal of SME:
To foster to the needs of young minds with technological

students in their academics and also provide platform for awareness on the latest
developments related to Mechanical Engineering. Technical activities like
workshops, guest lectures, industrial visits and various contests in Mechanical
Engineering are conducted under SME (Society of Mechanical Engineers).
