youth through innovation and outreach

Industrial Robotics, Welding & Precision Machining- Eaton County
July 8-12th (9:00-3:00 daily) LCC West Campus

During this week long program, students will explore and develop skills through
participation in hands-on learning opportunities focused on precision machining,

industrial robotics and welding. This program is facilitated in partnership with
Lansing Community College. 
Tuition: $115 per student

Open to students enrolled in grades 7-10 for the 2019/2020 school year

Introductory Shop Rat Camp- Jackson County
June 24-28th (9:00-3:00 daily) Jackson Area Career Center
During this week long program, students will explore and
develop skills through participation in hands-on projects
related to construction, engineering, precision machining and
welding. 
Tuition: $115 per student
Open to students enrolled in grades 6-8 for the 2019/2020
school year

Professional Trades Camp- Jackson County
July 15-19th (9:00-3:00 daily) Jackson Area Career Center
During this week long program, students will explore and develop skills
through participation in hands-on projects related to professional building
trades such as electrical, plumbing, general carpentry and masonry. 

Tuition: $115 per student
Open to students enrolled in grades 6-8 for the 2019/2020 school year

Shop Rat Welding Camps- Hillsdale County
August 5-9th  Hillsdale Area Career Center
Welding 1: During this week long program, students will gain an introduction
to gas metal arc welding through hands-on participation.  (9:00-11:30 AM
daily) No prior experience required.
Welding 2: This Developing level program is open to students who have
previous welding experience or have participated in previous Shop Rat
Welding Camp offerings. (12:00-3:00 PM daily)
Tuition: $75 per student per session (Welding 1 or Welding 2)
Open to students enrolled in grades 6-10 for the 2019/20120 school year

Important Information

1. To register, visit www.shoprat.org and click on the programs
tab. All registrations are processed through our website.

2. The locations and any pre-requisite classes or camps
needed for participation are noted in the program
descriptions within the booklet and on the website. Please be
sure to refer to these prior to registration.

3. Space is limited within all classes and camps. Waitlists are
enabled for each program.

6. For all camps, students are required to wear long pants
(preferably jeans) and closed toe shoes. Synthetic materials,
such as polyester are also prohibited due to flammability.

7. For all full day camps, lunch is provided daily. If your child
has food allergies or special dietary needs, we recommend
packing a lunch daily.

8. In the event that you need to cancel your registration, full
refunds (less processing fees) are available through June 15th.
Following June 15th, a 50% refund is available up until 1 week
prior to the start of the registered program.
