(การใช้แสดงความปรารถนา)

Wish หมายถึง ปรารถนา หรอื ต้องการ
ตวั อยา่ งการใช้

I have a small room. I wish I had a big room.

ฉนั มีหอ้ งท่ีเลก็ ฉนั อยากมหี อ้ งท่ีใหญ่

จากประโยค 2 ประโยคทกี่ ลา่ วมาข้างตน้ ประโยคที่1 เป็นประโยคทบี่ อกสภาพจริงในปัจจบุ ันหรอื
สภาพจรงิ ที่เปน็ อยู่ สว่ นประโยคท2ี่ เปน็ ส่งิ ทต่ี อ้ งการอยากจะให้เกดิ ขนึ้ หรอื ปรารถนาทจี่ ะใหเ้ กิดข้ึน

การแสดงความปรารถนาทอี่ ยากให้เกดิ ขนึ้ ในรปู แบบประโยคนน้ั เรยี กวา่ “Wish form”

โดยท่ัวไปเราจะใช้แสดงถึงความปรารถนาในสงิ่ ท่ียังไมเ่ ปน็ จรงิ หรือตรงกนั ข้ามกับความเป็นจรงิ ไม่
ว่าจะเปน็ ความปรารถนาทอ่ี ยากให้สิ่งใดสิง่ หน่ึงเกดิ ข้นึ ในปัจจบุ ัน อดตี อนาคต เราสามารถใช้ wish ได้
ทั้งหมด โดยโครงสร้างประโยคจะต้องแยกออก 2 ส่วน คอื

สว่ นท่1ี Subject 1 + wish สว่ นท2่ี Subject 2+ Verb

Wish คือ กริยาแท้ ต้องผนั ตาม ประธาน(subject) เปน็ ประโยคทีต่ ามหลังกรยิ า (ตามหลงั สว่ นที่1)
และ Tense เช่น I wish, she wishes, they ต้องผันตามกาเวลา(tense)
wished เปน็ ตน้ ตัวอย่าง
ตวั อยา่ ง I wish I had a private room now.
I wish I had a private room now (past simple)

ประโยคแบบ wish form ทใี่ ช้แสดงความปรารถนาหรือความต้องการซึง่ เป็ นความปรารถนา
ทต่ี รงข้ามกับความเป็ นจริง แบง่ ได้เป็ น 3 แบบโดยเราใช้เกณฑแ์ บ่งตามกาลเวลา(tense) ดังนี้

แบบท1ี่ : ปรารถนาให้ ความปรารถนา(wish) แบบท3่ี : ปราถรถนาให้
เกิดขึน้ ในปัจจุบัน เกิดในอดตี
แบบท2่ี : ปราถรถนาให้
เกิดขนึ้ ในอดตี

แบบท่1ี : ประโยคแสดงความปรารถนาทีอ่ ยากใหเ้ กดิ ขึ้นในปัจจุบัน past simple

การแสดงความปรารถนาแบบนี้ ต้องการใหเ้ กิดสิ่งทีต่ รงข้ามกบั ความจรงิ ทเ่ี ปน็ อยู่ เช่น ฉนั ปรารถนา
ให้ฉันรวย (ความจรงิ คือยังไม่รวย)

I wish I passed the examination. ฉนั อยากจะสอบผ่านครง้ั นี้ (ตอนนยี้ ังสอบไมผ่ ่าน)

I wish I were beside him. ฉนั ปรารถนาทจ่ี ะอยู่ข้างๆเขา (ตอนนี้ไม่ได้อยู่ขา้ งๆเขา)

I wish she v.2 to school. ฉนั หวงั วา่ เธอจะมาโรงเรียน (ตอนนี้เธอยงั ไมม่ า)

I wish I had a boyfriend now. ฉันอยากมแี ฟนเสยี ตอนนี้เลย (ตอนน้ยี ังไมม่ ีแฟน)

I wish my family were happy. ฉนั อยากใหค้ รอบครัวของฉันมีความสุข (ตอนนี้ครอบครวั ไม่มคี วามสขุ )

I wish I won the lottery. ฉนั ปรารถนาท่ีอยากถกู ลอตเตอร่ี (ตอนนีย้ งั ไม่ถกู ลอตเตอร่ี)

แบบท่ี2: ประโยคแสดงความปรารถนาทีอ่ ยากให้เกิดขึ้นในอดตี (past perfect)

แสดงวา่ เหตกุ ารณณ์ ใ์ นอดีตท่เี กดิ ข้นึ เป็นไปอยา่ งนึง แตอ่ ยากใหเ้ หตกุ ารณ์นน้ั เปน็ ไปอกี แบบ ความ
ต้องการในแบบน้ีจะเปน็ ลกั ษณะวา่ เราเสยี ดาย แสดงความตอ้ งการทจ่ี ะเปลีย่ นเหตกุ ารณใ์ นอดีตทมี่ ันผา่ น
มาแล้ว และไมส่ ามารถกลบั ไปแก้ไขไดแ้ ล้ว เชน่ เมอื่ วานน้ีฉนั อยากจะเจอเขามากเลย

(แต่ความจริงแล้วไมไ่ ด้เจอ)

ใชร้ ูปประโยค S +wish + S + had + v.3 (past participle)

ในสง่ิ ทีไ่ มน่ า่ พดู ไป ไมส่ ามารถกลบั ไปแกค้ ำพดู ได้แลว้ )

เมื่อวานฉันไม่ไดไ้ ปรว่ มงานปาร์ตี้ ถ้าได้ไปคงจะดี (แสดงวา่ ไม่ได้ไปงานปารต์ ี้)

ฉนั สอบตก ถา้ ฉนั ขยนั กวา่ นกี้ ค็ งจะผา่ น (แสดงว่าสอบไมผ่ า่ น)

แบบท่ี3: ประโยคแสดงความปรารถนาที่อยากใหเ้ กดิ ขน้ึ ในอนาคต

ใชเ้ ม่ือรู้แนว่ า่ เหตุการณใ์ นอนาคตจะเป็นแบบหนง่ึ แตเ่ ราอยากใหเ้ ป็นอกี แบบ เช่น ฉนั อยากใหเ้ ธอมา
งานเล้ยี งที่จะถงึ (ความจรงิ คือเขาไมม่ า)

• I wish he could speak louder.

• I wish you would stop smoking.
ฉนั หวงั ใหค้ ุณเลิกสูบบุหรี่ซกั ที

การใช้ wish คล้ายกับ คาว่า Want แต่ wish นั้นบอกความ • S + wish + past simple (อยากใหเ้ กิดขนึ้ ณ ปัจจบุ นั )
ปรารถนาตามกาลเวลา 3 กาลเวลาด้วยกนั คอื • past simple = s + v.2
S + wish + past perfect (อยากใหเ้ กิดในอดีต)
