Khalidah Adibah binti Amin@Adibah Amin

(born 19 February 1936)
a Malaysian writer, columnist, teacher, translator, and

actress
She was born in Johor Bahru and attended an English-

medium secondary school before enrolling at the
University of Malaya (1957).

She taught Malay and English at the Malay Girls College
in Kuala Lumpur from 1958 to 1961.

She went on to teach at the Language Institute and
Alam Shah School, both in Kuala Lumpur, before

becoming the first headmistress of Jalan Kolam Ayer
School [now Seri Puteri School in Cyberjaya] and
subsequently leaving the education service.

From 1971 to 1984, she worked as a journalist for the New
Straits Times, and later for The Star in the 1990s.

Many English speakers remember Adibah as the author of
the New Straits Times column she wrote under the pen
name Sri Delima in the 1970s and 1980s.
In 2009, the columns were reprinted as a book.
