4-student teams competed to resolve a challenge designed by
Rose-Hulman Professors. Company representatives and Rose-

Hulman faculty served as judges.

1. Design a solution to disable drones or laser lights in the path of airplanes.
2. Design a solution to sanitize bathroom exits, i.e. handles, doorknob that requires minimal

power consumption (ideally zero or renewable power).
3. Design a solution for people such as in Flint, MI to perform in-home testing on their

drinking water.
4. Design a solution to keep the driver of a vehicle from texting, or doing facetime or

FaceBook live while driving.
5. Create the plan for a new classroom or academic building on the Rose-Hulman campus.

Companies facilitated activities or simulations for students in
order to demonstrate a leadership skill necessary to be successful,

especially for those entering the workforce for the first time.

CORPORATE BISTROS

Company representatives hosted lunch-style BISTROS for
students, allowing the students at their table to hone their
networking skills. This provided the informal setting that
encouraged company reps and students to become better

acquainted with each other.
