and Environmental Sustainability
Assessment Standards
On September 1, 2020, Multidisciplinary Learning Exchange Building or LX was TREES (Thai’s
Rating of Energy and Environmental Sustainability) certified at the Platinum level by Thai Green
Building Institute (TGBI) as it was designed to support environmental sustainability.
Bangmod Marketplace Festival
During September18-20, 2020, a “Bangmod Marketplace Festival” was organized at ICON Siam,
Bangkok. The President of KMUTT was invited as a guest speaker to give an opening speech. This
festival was held to promote and support Thai businesses during the COVID19 outbreak , to
enable students to gain knowledge and experience in businesses. In addition, they can also
promote their own businesses during the festival.
ASEAN SUSTAINABLE ENERGY WEEK 2020
KMUTT presented 6 outstanding energy projects at the ASEAN SUSTAINABLE ENERGY WEEK
BOILEX ASIA, PUMPS AND VALVES ASIA 2020. The event taking place at BITEC Bangna was
organized to promote knowledge and develop post covid-19 business models and long-term plan
toward new normal in a sustainable manner.
KMUTT Attends the Second Safety Lab and
Safety Culture for Sustainability Meeting
King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, led by EESH and the laboratory network of
KMUTT attended the second “Safety Lab and Safety Culture for Sustainability Meeting” hosted
by National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) together with 12 major universities responsible
for lab safety on 9 October 2020 at Rama Garden Hotels, Bangkok. The Faculty of Engineering’s
laboratory of food engineering was awarded prize for excellent presentation about “Best
Practice for Waste Management Operation Safety” by Ratchaneeporn Ai-Tang as the lab
representative. 3 Other laboratories including the chemistry laboratory (Department of
Chemistry, Faculty of Science), food engineering laboratory (Department of Food Engineering,
Faculty of Engineering), and environmental engineering (Department of Environmental
Engineering, Faculty of Engineering) were also awarded for their excellent presentation on
results of their lab safety standard in the form of posters. The posters were received with much
interests from the representatives who attended the meeting. The meeting comprised over 300
representatives from all over the network.
KMUTT Hosts the Third Summit of 2020 for Thai
Sustainable University Network (SUN Thailand)
As the leader of Thailand’s Sustainable University Network, King Mongkut's University of
Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) hosted the summit held from 8-10 October 2020 with the
assistance of Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Phuket campus as co-host. This network summit
was held to ensure the continuity and effectiveness of the committee’s operation. In 2020,
KMUTT had received the honor of acting as a chair and host the meeting between 34
institutions. The representatives from each member university participated in sharing about
preparation of data for UI Green Metric World 2020 and were guided through sustainability expo
put together by the 5 campuses of Prince of Songkla University. The representatives then visited
the sustainable community project which plays a key role in elevating the environment and
sustainability of nation-wide universities to be role models for the society.

PDTI Held Advanced Course for Drying
Process Technology
Pilot Plant Development and Training Institute (PDTI), sponsored by the Office of the Permanent
Secretary for Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) for
technological skills development for drying process (the “Upskill Workshop on Drying
Technology”) held a course from 7-8 October 2020 and from 21-22 October 2020. The course
held by PDTI focused on drying process technology and had 67 participants from a range of 33
food and agro-industry related firms.
EESH Co-hosted the
7th ME Energy Saving Day
Energy Environment Safety and Health Center (EESH) together with energy conservation work
group from Department of Mechanical Engineering co-hosted the 7th ME Energy Saving Day on
17 November 2020 at Witsawa Watthana Building. This activity was held to raise awareness
about water and energy conservation in accordance with King Mongkut's University of
Technology Thonburi’s energy policy and to encourage better understanding about energy
conservation and efficient use of water through exhibition and thought-provoking games. This
activity was received with much attention from KMUTT members, both faculty staffs and over
200 students.
Research Strategic plan for Royal Project

Research Innovation and Partnership Office KMUTT joined the brainstorming activity on
Research Strategic plan for Royal Project on 18 November 2020 .This activities focus on the
Royal Project’s research direction which need KMUTT researcher join and make problem based
research which help communities to solve the problems which support the SDG 1: No Poverty
and SDG 2 Zero Hunger
KMUTT launched the Accelerated program for SME
on "Advance Composite 3D Printing: The Disruptive
Manufacturing Solution"
On 24 November 2020, Department of Mechanical Engineering ,Faculty of Engineering KMUTT
held the seminar on the topic of "Advance Composite 3D Printing: The Disruptive Manufacturing
Solution" at Auditorium Hall ,KX:Knowledge Exchange Building. The aim of this seminar is to
accelerated the SME to using the new technology which help to reduce costing on some
manufacturing process by using Advance Composite 3D Printing: The Disruptive Manufacturing
Solution .This seminar add up the Design Thinking concept with some practical process which
let the SME personnel create their idea to apply this technology to their own business .The
application of the Advance Composite 3D Printing will transform some manufacturing process
and make the innovative manufacturing in the near future .This event supports the SDG 4 Quality
Education ,SDG 8 Decent work and Economic Growth and SDG 9 Industry, Innovation and
Infrastructure.

SUN Thailand year 2020
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the university King Mongkut's
University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) was honored to host the meeting.
The 5th Annual Conference of Sustainable University Network of Thailand and the 4th Annual
Meeting of Sustainable Universities Network of Thailand (SUN Thailand) 2020 at the Research,
Development and Innovation Building in Bioprocess ( BRI)
KMUTT (Bang Khun Thian) during 3-4 December as a platform to exchange knowledge and
knowledge for sustainable university development in various fields. as well as disseminating the
results of sustainability in all aspects of KMUTT to all 36 networked universities. In addition, at
the event, there was a keynote speech on the topic "Higher Education Commission Policy
towards Sustainable Universities". Activities to exchange learning about sustainable
development throughout the 2 days of this conference. The 5th Annual Conference of
Sustainable University Network of Thailand and the 4th Sustainable University Network of
Thailand (SUN Thailand) Member Meeting 2020, King Mongkut's University of Technology
Thonburi received host and forwarded the hosting of the next year's meeting to Kasetsart
University Chairman of the Sustainable University Network of Thailand for the year 2021
Students Led “Green Heart” to First Prize in
SUN Thailand 2020
King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi represented by “Green Heart” student group
presented their project: “KMUTT Volunteer Ants fights against COVID-19: opportunity for food
sustainability from a crisis” triumphed and received first prize for student sustainability project
for “Sustainable Campus by SDGs in Actions:
Best Practice Sharing & Learning Experience” on 4 December 2021 at King Mongkut's University
of Technology Thonburi, Bangkhunthian campus. The Green Heart student group presented
their project results, which they participated in planning out the operation to encourage learning
through promotion of sustainable consumption. The student group were also the major driving
force in the project. Green Heart's work not only contributed to sustainable consumption in the
KMUTT community but also sown the seeds of sustainability to the surrounding communities
with perceptible outcome. The team, consisting of Akarapan Taweesak, Wuttichai Puengrat, and
Anusara Tangpeerasit with Nayarat Wongwate, Thanakarn Koomphai, Kittinat Kaewthong, and
student financial support work group as project advisors throughout the campaign.
Poster Design Competition “Gen Z Against
Environmental Crisis”
Wednesday 16 December 2020, the social science and humanities fields held a competition of
poster design “Gen Z Against Environmental Crisis” to celebrate Thailand’s Environment Day, to
promote environment and natural resource conservation, and to raise awareness of the current
environmental crisis.
CPRAM with Media Arts KMUTT Campaign
“New Gen without Food Waste” Raises
Awareness for Food Waste
CPRAM co., ltd. together with the Media Arts Program in King Mongkut's University of
Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) held video clip competition “New Gen without Food Waste” for
the third year to help raise awareness against food waste in the youth and empower their
actions in fighting against the food waste. The competition results were as following. For high
school category: first prize: “Food Waste Break Heart” from “Kai Fa” team, St. Dominic School.
Runner-up: “Why Didn’t You Care” from “Why Didn’t You Care” team, Montfort College. Second
Runner-up: “Life Change Earth Change” from “4 A.M.”, Varee Chiangmai School. For college
category, first prize: “How Could You Throw Away a Heart in a Box?” from “RESET PRODUCTION”
team, Rangsit University. Runner up: “Less Rice Please, Auntie” from “Less Rice Please, Auntie”
team, KMUTT. Second runner up: “Fined for Leftovers” from “Tai Ta Dum” team, Naresuan
University.
