Connect Room, Science Instrument Center Building.

the host of APEC 2022.
On December 27, 2021, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, with
collaboration his followers, jointly discussed the overview of operations in line with the country's
strategic goals in driving the BCG Model and the implementation of “BCG Model @KMUTT” as a
guideline for preparing to host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Meeting in 2022 at
the main conference room, 2nd floor, BRI building, King Mongkut's University of Technology
Thonburi. (Bangkhunthian).
Faculty of Science grants “Siam Chemical
Industry Year 2” Scholarship
On July 1, 2020, Siam Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. joined KMUTT at
SCL 209 Meeting Room, Faculty of Science, to award “ 2nd Year Siam Chemical Industry
Scholarship” with a total of 128,000 baht per year of study. Third-year students from the
Department of Chemistry would receive this scholarship untill their graduation.

Education and Technology organized “Seub
Saeng Thian Project 2020”
On July 8, 2020, the Student Club together with the Faculty of Industry and Technology organized
“Seub Saeng Thian Project 2020” at KMUTT. At the event, guest speakers from various
departments were invited to talk about their experiences being a teacher or professor. The topic
about future guidelines to improve KMUTT was also discussed and planned in order to make
KMUTT better and for the faculty to move on towards its goal.

according to AUN-QA criteria at course level
On August 4, 2020, at the meeting room 2, the “Academic Quality Assessment” screening was
organized by Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology KMUTT to screen the assessment
report according to AUN-QA Criteria. The screenings were undertaken to select a course for
quality assessment in compliance with AUN-QA Criteria which will lead to the development of
the courses for the future.
Project to raise KMUTT personnel
competency using intensive WiL model
KMUTT Research, Innovation and Partnerships Office along with Faculty of Education and
Technology KMUTT held a project to raise KMUTT personnel competency level using intensive
WiL model on the 5th of July, 2020 at Chatrium Riverside Hotel, Bangkok. This project was a
collaboration aimed to create standards on personnel competency accepted in both Thailand
and internationally which is important for the future of Thailand. Moreover, this project aimed to
produce a high performance workforce for the NEW GROWTH ENGINE industry according to
Thailand 4.0 policy.
KMUTT joins 15th Thailand Research
Expo 2020
National Research Office of Thailand (NRCT), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research
and Innovation (MHESI) organized the "15th Thailand Research Expo 2020” under the theme
"Research for developing the country to stability, prosperity, and sustainability” between 2-6
August 2020 at Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Center, 22nd Floor, Central World. This
is a national event where it presents high-quality technical and innovative work, focusing on
knowledge and usefulness towards country development in social policy / people and
commercial/industry. KMUTT joined the event with innovative work under the BCG Economy
Model and won a bronze award on July 6, 2020.

For the past three months, the on-going middle-level manager development program was
conducted to enhance and develop the participants to become a better manager to acheive
KMUTT goals. After the aims were met, the closing ceremony was held at Amphawa from August
7-8. 2020. Certificates were given to the participants in the ceremony to guarantee the
completip of the program and now they have become high quality managers under the concept
of a new changer for the university and the society.

on creative meeting of year 2020
On August 7, 2020, Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology hosted a small meeting under
the concept of “creative meeting” at Classroom 30907, KMUTT. The meeting discussed how to
creatively plan meetings or activities in KMUTT. A workshop organized by the Super Samart team
was also undertaken to support the “New Normal Meeting” concept to enhance knowledge on
COVID19 readiness for KMUTT personnel and students. This can lead to quality meetings and
social responsibility of the students and personnel in the future.

Energy Environment Safety and Health (EESH), KMUTT organized a Risk Assessment Training at
KMUTT Bangmod - Bang Khun Thian on August 17 and 19, 2020. Laboratory rik and safety audit,
the use of risk assessment application form and many other risk management related topics
were discussed during the training. The projects is an effort to ensure the standard of KMUTT
safety and risk management as a safe university for future applications and to meet KMUTT
goals on having high safety at workplace.

On August 23, 2020, the Student Union of Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology
organized FIET SPIRIT DAY’ 2020 under the concept of “Beyond FIET Identity: New Generation of
Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology” at KMUTT. KMUTT personnel have joyfully
participated as guest speakers as well as participated in the event as major participants.
Performances were held to display the spirit of each department, while FIET Ambassador Boy &
Girl Project 10 Contest was also held. All of these activities were carried out in compliance with
social distancing rules.

@ Work Season 3
On August 24, 2020, Language course, LNG103 organized a Video Competition Activity:
Professionalism @ Work Season 3 for students to promote the use of English in communication
by applying knowledge from this course. It also helps to foster understanding about working in
the career that students are interested in. Moreover, it strengthens motivation for students to be
determined to create good and quality work. Cash Awards (5,000 – 10,000 Baht) were given to
winners at the end of the competition

Monday 24 August 2020 – School of Liberal Arts (SoLA) had an opportunity to welcome lecturers
from School of Liberal Arts, Mae Fah Luang University for their study visit. Welcomed by Asst.

On August 28, 2020, Assoc. Prof. Thiradet Jiarasuksakun, Dean of Faculty of Science received an
Award for “Outstanding Executive of the Year 2020” from Million Seeds of Virtue in Gratitude of
the Land Project, Foundation for Thai Society at the Thailand Air Force Auditorium . This award
was given to individuals with high contribution to society who are qualified with appropriate
standards and willing to apply knowledge to practice. The person must be seen as an exemplary
leader who for the public.

Certificate Presentation Ceremony for Data
Science Students
Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science of KMUT received a supporting budget from the
Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) for development of
workforce to be able to use data science and apply real application at work. This year, KMUTT
was assisted by Thanachart Bank Public Company Limited (TBANK) to develop and improve the
course. Finally, on August 31, 2020, the Certificate Presentation Ceremony for Data Science
trainees who completed the course was held at Thanachart Bank Public Company Limited
Building.
KMUTT Necktie and King Mongkut’s Pin
Decoration Ceremony
August 31, 2020, the Student Union along with other KMUTT clubs organized the “Necktie and
King Mongkut’s Pin Decoration Ceremony 2020” This ceremony is a ceremony where the student
will receive their Necktie and Pin Ceremony 2020 indicating that they are officially KMUTT
student. The holy ceremony was organized at the King Mongkut's 190th Anniversary Memorial
Building to make students proud of the institute and also offer student a chance to show respect
towards the professors and King Rama IV.
Mission Plan for Sustainability
of FIET & KMUTT
On September 10-12, 2020, Phetchaburi Province, Faculty of Industrial Education and
Technology organized a seminar for the management team and KMUTT supporters under the
topic “Mission Plan for Sustainability of FIET & KMUTT.” During the seminar, the new guideline
for the Faculty was discuseed while taking into account the “New Normal” situation around
Thailand. It is necessary to build and raise understanding, commitment, and participation of all
groups to achieve KMUTT goals.
Bangmod Marketplace Festival
During September18-20, 2020, a “Bangmod Marketplace Festival” was organized at ICON Siam,
Bangkok. The President of KMUTT was invited as a guest speaker to give an opening speech. This
festival was held to promote and support Thai businesses during the COVID19 outbreak , to
enable students to gain knowledge and experience in businesses. In addition, they can also
promote their own businesses during the festival.
KMUTT students win the Second Runner-Up
at the “Innovation for Aging Society”
The Comprehensive Course in Japanese Business Innovation Program is a program held by the
Japanese Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Technology Promotion Association
(Thailand-Japan) or TPA for third and fourth year students as a preparation course for future
career. Under the topic of “Innovation for Aging Society”. “Beware wet” project of KMUTT
students won the Second Runner-Up award.
ASEAN SUSTAINABLE ENERGY WEEK 2020
KMUTT presented 6 outstanding energy projects at the ASEAN SUSTAINABLE ENERGY WEEK
BOILEX ASIA, PUMPS AND VALVES ASIA 2020. The event taking place at BITEC Bangna was
organized to promote knowledge and develop post covid-19 business models and long-term plan
toward new normal in a sustainable manner.

Syllabus design using the Outcome-Based
Education Module (OBEM)
On September 27, 2020, the Faculty of Science held an 'Outcome-Based Education Module
(OBEM)' workshop at Ramada Plaza hotel. During the morning session, the Science and Physic
majors presented the result of using the OBEM 1 teaching module in the first term, involving LO
for grading tool and LEB2 to gather the data. The analysis of the data and evaluating the benefit
of the OBEM methods was presented during the afternoon session.

KMUTT Awarded for Outstanding Safety
Educational Institution in the year 2020
King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) including Bangmod and
Bangkhunthian campus was awarded the “Institutions with Outstanding Safety in 2020” from the
Department of Labour Protection and Welfare on 2 October 2020 from the continuous work in
safety aspect of KMUTT in tandem with excellent cooperation from its community to create
safety culture within the organization. KMUTT also sets its goal in being the “Green University”
with exceptional management in energy, environment, and safety as stated in the slogan:
“KMUTT TOTAL COMMITMENT : Safety in all we do.”
KMUTT Hosts the Third Summit of 2020 for Thai
Sustainable University Network (SUN Thailand)
As the leader of Thailand’s Sustainable University Network, King Mongkut's University of
Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) hosted the summit held from 8-10 October 2020 with the
assistance of Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Phuket campus as co-host. This network summit
was held to ensure the continuity and effectiveness of the committee’s operation. In 2020,
KMUTT had received the honor of acting as a chair and host the meeting between 34
institutions. The representatives from each member university participated in sharing about
preparation of data for UI Green Metric World 2020 and were guided through sustainability expo
put together by the 5 campuses of Prince of Songkla University. The representatives then visited
the sustainable community project which plays a key role in elevating the environment and
sustainability of nation-wide universities to be role models for the society.

Zone The EMQUATIER Shopping Center
KX Smart Play is one of Social Enterprise activities using science and technology under
collaboration between KMUTT and The MALL Group Co. Ltd. This project aims to develop the
young innovator by using KX Smart Kids from KX Knowledge Exchange. ,KMUTT and using
Problem based learning from Darunshikhalai School which focus on innovative learning . KX
Smart Play is now official launched on 15 October 2020 at EMJOY Zone which is the
Edutainment Mixed Use area for young generation @The EMQUATIER Shopping Center. This
edutainment area announce to be "EMJOY- Empower the Youth's Nextperience which support
the children and family activities. This activity help to support SDG 4 Quality Education.

Program
16 October 2020, a seminar was held to present the results of professional performance
improvement program. The directly related field was the high-speed train and railroads
professions which developed from transportation system development. The seminar aimed to
help participants develop professional training standard that will help them in staff training to
meet with the professional standard and elevate the professional standard as a whole. The
attendees who passed the evaluation received certification of participation. The seminar was
held at Prince Ballroom 3 at Prince Palace Mananak Hotel

The Third “Mini Workshop: Make Your World”
Science Learning Space’s Activity
21-22 October 2020, Science Learning Space held an activity: “Mini workshop: Make Your
World” for the third time at the basement “Science Learning Space” of the Faculty of Science.
Participants were allowed to meditate while decorating their own tray gardens and learning
about planting and nurturing the plants. Moreover, there were other mini workshops to
encourage learning by doing, which would help scientific thinking planning and experimenting.
The activities were fun and stimulating. Many students and university staffs attended the
workshop.

Culture Exhibition for
Youth of Community in Zone 1 Bridge
24 October 2020, students in graduate school in Department of Educational Technology and
Communications, Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology (FIET) of KMUTT held
presentation about art and culture exhibition for youth of community in zone 1 bridge. The
presentation was done at class 30907 (9th floor) building 3 as an implementation of subject LTM
632 (Theory in Mass Communication) to discuss the lessons learned from the project and
possible improvements in the future under the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim was to minimize
drug abuse in youths and discuss possible activities to efficiently distribute useful knowledge to
the community.

Curriculum Development by “Outcome-Based
Education” Concept
Center for Effective Learning and Teaching (CELT), Learning Institute (LI), together with Education
Development Service Office (EDS) of KMUTT held a workshop meeting titled “Empowering with
Outcome-Based Curriculum” as a pilot project for outcome-based education concept aimed to
induce change in course takers. The concept would be utilized for 34 future courses in 2021
academic year. The workshop was held on Wednesday 28 October 2020 at Ploenchit Ballroom,

29 October 2020, at to honorary hall on the 8 th floor, Faculty of Industrial Education and
Technology (FIET), a cooperation agreement was made regarding study of Digital Citizenship for
students and teachers nationwide including DQ (Digital Intelligence Quotient). The agreement
was made betweem the faculty and Advance Wireless Network Co., Ltd. Where such agreement
was aimed to equip the students with skills to seek for information Online in a disciplined and
safe way and also able to join the Online community as a good digital citizen.
The Asahi Glass Foundation Scholarship
for KMUTT
2 November 2020, the Asahi Glass Fouondation (AF) sponsored 7 research scholarships for
lecturers and researchers in KMUTT. The Asahi Glass Foundation (AF) was an altruistic
foundation established in Japan. In the past, the foundation had sponsored various researches
both in Japan and abroad including Thailand and Indonesia with the goals to support
development of science and technology for industrial, economic, and social advancement.

6 November 2020, the Faculty of Liberal Arts hosted a ceremony of 20th anniversary celebration.
Various activities included speech contest, “Invited Talk” presentation in the topic of “Who Says
Women are not Leaders: Talking Gender Equality in Liberal Celebrating 60 years Arts Education”
delivered together by Sirinya Bishop and Parit Wacharasindhu, and “Special Talk” presentation in
the topic of “World Environment Crisis: Does the Door to Sustainability Exist?” delivered
together by Pipat Apiruktana and Assoc. Prof. Sookna Chawanich, Warun Waranyanon, and Dr.
Punthita Tanwattana. Other activities included cooking demonstration, health booth, Thai royal
court delicacy, local wisdom booth, and faculty’s anniversary exhibition “Commemorate our
glorious past, inspire our brighter future".

“Online Tools for the 21st Century Learning”
7 November 2020, Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology (FIET) KMUTT held an alumni
development program 2020 on the topic of “Online Tools for the 21st Century Learning” at the
honorary hall, central building. The presentation revolved around 13 classes of modern Online
learning instruments as they are integrated into every level of education. It was believed that the
presentation will enable the participants to keep learning by themselves regardless of time and
location with the access to various sources of information with ease. The activity had more than
80 participants.
