We Are All Collages - Tearing through the History of Collage Animation By Chris Robinson Presentation Description: Collage expands well beyond the walls of visual art. In literature, collage or cut-up techniques were popularized by William S. Burroughs and Brion Gysin but were rooted in the Dada movement of the 1920s. Sampling and mash-ups (a collision of two songs) have been a decades-old mainstay. Collage elements are so dominant now that we don't know the real from the phony. In conjunction with the release of his latest book, Earmarked for Collision - A Highly Biased Tour of Collage Animation, Chris Robinson takes us on a brief journey through the history of collage animation exploring its craft and artistic roots while introducing us to some of the most notable collage animators. Chris Robinson Biography: Chris Robinson is a writer, author, and the Artistic Director of the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF). He was the 2020 recipient of the award for Outstanding Contribution to Animation Studies by Animafest Zagreb. In 2022, he received the Prix Rene Jodoin for his contributions to Canadian animation. Panel Discussions • Strengthening Legal Protections: The Road to Same-Sex Marriage in Kosovo Kosovo remains a country where the rights and freedoms of the LGBTIQA+ community are not guaranteed by law and the path to equality and ensuring basic rights for this community continues to remain unclear. The new civil code which included same-sex marriages would have ensured that these marriages are recognized and legally protected. However, considering that this discussion at the institutional level is still new, there are some questions that should be posed: What are the challenges faced by the LGBTIQA+ community in Kosovo? What steps should be taken to guarantee basic rights and equal treatment for the LGBTIQA+ community? What were the factors that affected the failure for the new civil code to be passed in the Parliament of Kosovo? What are the shortcomings and benefits of the compilation of the new civil code proposed in the assembly? How difficult will it be to implement? 50 Shades of Love: The Impact of Cinematography on the Perception of Love Cinema as a cultural and artistic production cannot be seen secluded by society because it is either a reflection of it, or it affects society's understanding and perception of social problems or its progressive aspects. Cinematography has such an influence also on the perception that society and individuals make of the concept of love. Consequently, love in its various forms, as far as the theme is concerned, is an integral part of cinematography and in this context, there are some questions that need to be asked. How does cinematography portray love? How does this social portrayal reinforce norms and dominant power structures in romantic relationships? How much can cinema influence the traditional concept of love? Self-Love: Nurturing Healthy Relationships with Oneself In today's time, the preoccupation of the individual for his survival occurs within the crises of contemporary life. In addition to the need to change inter-subjective relationships (with others), today's individual is also placed in other intra-subjective relationships (with himself). The latter is often influenced by external factors including social norms, cultural expectations, or different institutional structures. At the same time, building healthy relationships with themselves is influenced by the way that individuals react to these cultural expectations and the symbolic values that the social norms embody. In this context, questions arise. Why is self-love important? How is it practiced? How do social norms and cultural expectations influence the individual's perception of self-love? What is the connection between self-love and our interactions with others? How can individuals react to the collective norms in nurturing positive relations with themselves? This document is the official program for the 14th edition of Anibar Animation Festival. It will be used as a guideline for all activities and events during the 14th edition.

Celestial Love: Exploring the Connection between Astrology and Relationships Love is written in the stars, so the saying goes. Have you ever had a crush and were dying to know what their sign was? To know if you were compatible and likeminded? Was the first question you asked “What’s your zodiac sign”? Astrology goes way back, from Adam and Eve, the first two Geminis to walk this earth. Even though some might say Astrology is a hoax, to this day it continues to be one of the most relatable things in our society. Sometimes we all get the urge to know and understand each other’s zodiac signs, to learn more about them. Whether it’s a friend, lover or family member, Astrology keeps us connected. In this panel we will talk about the complexity of Astrology and its impact in interrelations between ourselves and our surroundings. This document is the official program for the 14th edition of Anibar Animation Festival. It will be used as a guideline for all activities and events during the 14th edition.

Other Activities• Coffee and Talk: Meet the Filmmakers The Kosovar experience can not, under any circumstances, be considered full without a morning coffee over which you tackle and ultimately solve issues ranging from personal to global. While expertise is irrelevant and unnecessary for most of these discussions, from the 18th until the 23rd of July, you’ll be able to hear from actual experts for a change. Meet us at Exit Bar from 10:30 every day of the festival, to chat with the filmmakers of some of the films shown the previous night. This ritual of ours called ‘Coffee and Talks’, involving some rakias here and there, is an amazing opportunity to connect with our guests and better understand everything regarding animation. Exhibition: Frame by Frame This year, Anibar International Animation Festival wants to take the time to celebrate and appreciate not only the final result of the finished films, but also all the hard work and process that comes beforehand. Join us for our “Frame by Frame” everyday of the festival, starting from 11:00 at the Arts Gallery in Peja, to see the behind-the-scenes of your favorite films of this edition. Fall in love with animated films even more as you explore sketches, storyboards, concept art, and behind-the-scenes footage that reveal the journey of each film from the initial idea to the finished product. Witness the dedication and craftsmanship involved in bringing these animated works to life as you delve into the world of animation production. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to appreciate the artistic evolution and technical mastery involved in creating these remarkable films. This document is the official program for the 14th edition of Anibar Animation Festival. It will be used as a guideline for all activities and events during the 14th edition.

PITCH IT! We're organizing the Anibar Pitch, an event aimed at shifting the local perception of animation from being an art form to consume to being an art form to create. People from all around Kosovo have the floor to share their ideas and compete with other animation professionals and enthusiasts, to win both material and practical support in their filmmaking journey. Our goal has always been to eventually fume the animation spark that exists in our country and turn it into an opportunity for artists. And this year, we are happy to admit that we’re one step closer to this goal. This document is the official program for the 14th edition of Anibar Animation Festival.
