Academic Pathway

Message from

Campus Principal

I wish you a very warm welcome and thank you for taking time to explore what our school
has to offer your child.

Tenby SEH is not just a place to excel in academic studies. It is where your children will develop the wider skills and character
necessary to succeed in the modern world as global citizens. It is a school where your children can feel free to discover
themselves and be challenged to be the best that they can be. We strive to create an affirming environment where students
experience genuine warmth from teachers who believe in them and support them to become conscientious, responsible, and
capable persons with the life skills to pursue their passions.

As a school, we pride ourselves on taking a holistic approach to education; one which encompasses academic rigour, pastoral
care, genuine relationships, highly competent and dedicated teachers, and a challenging yet encouraging environment, with
technology seamlessly binding it all together. A child-centred approach balances strong academic and pastoral expectations,
which encourages students of all ages to develop a reflective, independent approach to life and learning.

Therefore, our dedicated staff and faculty actively seek opportunities to push our students to grow beyond their current level of
capabilities. Your child will be encouraged to explore all levels of learning through our broad curriculum and wide range of co-
curricular activities. There will be many opportunities for students to learn a wide range of knowledge, practical skills, and
leadership opportunities, thus acquiring personal qualities that serve them well as adults.

With decades of heritage in educational excellence behind us, as well as the introduction of an international evidence-based
approach provided by the International Schools Partnership, we can draw on a broad and deep pool of resources in equipping
your child with the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence to thrive in our ever-changing globalised world.

Tenby SEH is a diverse community, bringing together people from various nationalities and cultures. Being in this environment,
and making the most of it, is how global citizens are built. These are people who are respectful of others, comfortable with
diversity and able to communicate at multiple levels and in multiple ways.

We are committed to facilitating students in this journey to becoming the best versions of themselves. This will enable our
students to develop excellence of character so that they can realise their true potential!

If you are considering us as your school of choice, I warmly encourage you to visit our motivated, happy, and focused learning
community to see what we have to offer your child. Meanwhile, take a few minutes to explore our website and learn more about
our school. If you have any enquiries or wish to arrange a tour, please find our contact details on our contact page.

Meet our Heads of

Schools

Each student’s unique journey drives Tenby SEH Primary School to encourage and create a
nurturing, inclusive culture, with the vision of developing respectful, thoughtful, creative and resilient
students. In Tenby we share the desire to provide an environment which instils cooperation,
promotes initiative and leadership qualities, whilst encouraging communication, preparing our
students for their place in today’s global society.

Underpinning our Tenby Vision is our passion for learning combined with the dedication, and drive
to inspire the achievement of the best educational experience which will enable students to be
successful now and in the future. Central to our philosophy is our Vision and positive school-based
relationships.

Positive student relationships promote a sense of school belonging and encourage students to
collaborate and succeed. Students develop the confidence to experiment in an environment where
they are not restricted by the fear of failure. Here at Tenby, we are advocates of student voice. It is
an effective way of identifying concerns and interests and it offers opportunities for students to
engage with and influence developments within their school. There is strong evidence that where
students share an affinity with their school and feel listened to, they are likely to be better motivated
to learn.

Positive parent-school relationships mean students do better in education. These positive
outcomes include, better behaviour, more confidence and greater self-esteem, higher attendance
rates, and more enthusiasm about learning. Giving parents a voice on school matters and
involvement in decision-making enables us to meet the needs of our community more effectively.
Welcome to our Primary School and our Tenby Family, we are here to listen.

Tenby SEH Secondary is a nurturing and inclusive community where all students have a special and
distinct role to play. The wellbeing of every child is our top priority; from pastoral support and
counselling down to every individual teacher, we ensure that every child feels supported and
exemplifies our school Vision and ethos.

Our academic results do the talking for themselves, with IGCSE results well above global averages
in many critical subjects such as the Sciences and Mathematics. In addition, our dynamic
approach to teaching, learning and lesson design ensures students not only secure strong results,
but also develop essential characteristics including independence, communication and critical
thinking skills. These attributes ensure that students maintain their ambition and curiosity for new
learning, well after their educational journey at SEH is complete.

We know the details matter. From receiving concentrated academic feedback to underpinning
differentiated lessons for learners of all backgrounds and abilities; from nurturing student
leadership to buttressing consistent communication with parents, SEH Secondary is proud to
embody our school Vision in all aspects of our community.
On behalf of our students and teachers, I welcome you to come and visit our community. We would
be delighted to show you around and demonstrate the Amazing learning taking place.

School Vision & Mission

At Tenby SEH our Vision is not a cleverly
constructed sentence full of carefully
selected key words, rather our Vision is an
image, a picture, developed by a child in
our school, to represent the 8 attributes we
value most in our learners. These 8
attributes were chosen through
consultation with our students, staff and
parents and are a true reflection of the
competencies/characteristics we hold
most dear. Our Vision is for our learners to
be in possession of these attributes by the
time they leave our school, our Journey or
Mission is the process of giving them the
opportunity to gain, engage with and
express these attributes while at our school.

To us here at Tenby SEH, a Vision is
something that you should see, not
something you have to read and interpret.
So, our Vision is a little different to that of
most schools, our Vision is a picture of the
attributes and qualities we want to nurture
in our students.

School Vision & Mission

Learner attributes

These 8 Learner attributes were agreed upon collectively by our whole
school community: students, staff, and parents. They represent the
qualities we nurture in our students, and we recognize them in many
different ways, every day. A learner’s journey at Tenby SEH involves
embracing these attributes as they follow their own path to amazing
learning.

Early Years

At Tenby Setia EcoHill, we deliver the English Early Years (Nursery Age 3 - Reception 4)
Foundation Stage (EYFS) programme. We plan an
exciting and challenging curriculum based on our
observations of the children’s individual needs, interests
and stages of development across the seven areas of
learning, which are inter-connected and crucial for igniting
children's curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.

Seven Areas of Learning and Development
Communication and language
Physical development
Personal, social, and emotional development
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the world
Expressive arts and design

Our classrooms are fully equipped, allowing interactive activities which promote curiosity and
independence in our youngest learners. We have reading and literacy corners, as well as
construction and role-play areas which all support the children’s progress across the
Characteristics of Effective Learning. At Early Years Tenby Setia EcoHill, learning is facilitated
through a play based approach in the classroom and and in our EYFS outside area. Specialist
teaching begins in Nursery and the EYFS children participate in Mandarin, Bahasa, music,
computing, PE and swimming (in line with the most recent SOPs). Throughout the week, our
students engage in arts and crafts activities and story time, they learn through daily phonics
and maths lessons and cover a range of other subjects like science, history, geography, art
and PSHE through a thematic curriculum which enables them to access the bigger picture and
make connections between their learning. We also have a weekly Show and Tell session where
the children are beginning to develop their resilience and presentation skills from an early age.
At Tenby Setia EcoHill we nurture our children to support them to be the best they can be.

Key Stage 1 is your child’s first experience of a formal Primary
curriculum and we recognise that children may have had (Age 6 - 11)
different educational experiences during their previous
years. Therefore, at Tenby Setia EcoHill we work hard to
ensure a smooth transition from Early Years to Key Stage 1,
ensuring that our students feel settled and ready for the
challenges of Years 1 and 2 and that the curriculum
supports this transition. Our Key Stage 1 curriculum is
designed to allow students to develop their key skills of
reading, writing and mathematics as well as to explore the
world around them through exciting themes within a rich
thematic curriculum.

range of opportunities to demonstrate leadership and the other
essential qualities of our Vision. The Students Leading the Learning

their current age. The Student EdTech Team is a project based digital
learning group that delves into the use of Minecraft, Microsoft 365 and
