Alumni Graduation and Career News September 2018

We are always delighted to hear from our ex students and to learn of their achievements after
Uckfield College. Many congratulations to the students below who have been in touch to keep us
updated. There are of course many more students we have been unable to get in touch with this

Clare Baker,​ ​Class of 2008
1st Class Degree in Bioarchaeology
University of York

Beth Aldis, ​Class of 2008 Ella Barden,​ Class of 2007

1st Class Degree in Biomedical Science Graduated from London musical theatre school,
University of Kent The Urdang Academy, gaining a Level 6 National
Diploma in Professional Dance and Musical
Theatre. Ella is now auditioning for a show in
the West End!

Lucie Derrick,​ ​Class of 2008

2:1 Degree in Marine Biology
Portsmouth University

Lucy Evans,​ C​ lass of 2008
1st Class Degree in Media Culture and
Production
Southampton Solent University
Lucy has already started a full-time position as
Digital Content Assistant at Glyndebourne Opera
House.

Rebecca Fish,​ ​Class of 2007
1st Class Degree in Mathematics
University of Reading
Rebecca also received the IMA (Institute for
Mathematical Innovation) prize!
Rebecca is now off to the University of Brighton
to study Architecture BA.

Jennifer Fletcher,​ C​ lass of 2008
1st Class Degree in Physics
University of Exeter
Jennifer has recently started a Graduate job
with Kantar Worldpanel as a Category Analyst.

Rebecca Gibson,​ ​Class of 2007

1st Class Degree in Biochemistry
University of Sussex

Rebecca was also awarded the Life Sciences
School Award for Biochemistry, for achieving the
highest overall result. She has just started at the
University of Nottingham where she will spend
another 5 years studying Veterinary Medicine
and Surgery.

Genna Hazelden,​ ​Class of 2008

Merit Foundation Diploma in Art and Design
Eastbourne Sussex Downs College

Genna deferred the university place she was
offered at University of Wales Trinity St David
studying Surface Pattern and Printed Textiles
and secured a job as a Customer Advisor at
East Sussex Highways. She was their highest
performer and has been videoed for the ESH
YouTube channel and for a promotional video.

Genna has recently accepted a new post as a
Customer Liaison Officer for a HR consultancy
based in Haywards Heath.

Alicia Kent,​ ​Class of 2007 Tyler Smith,​ ​Class of 2006

2:1 Degree in Speech and Language Therapy 1st Class Degree in Accounting and Finance
University of Manchester Bournemouth University

Tyler has just started a Graduate Scheme at an
Investment company, working towards
qualifying as a Financial Advisor, as well as being
regulated by the FCA.

Tyler admits he didn't have great GCSEs, but
says it was great to still go to university and
perform. He says anyone can do it!

This summer Amelia embarked on her second
summer of training with the National Youth
Theatre in London
