Pain.
I can vividly recall our Professor, endlessly goading about the dynamics of pain. “Pain is
subjective.” he said. If logic dictated that being held at knifepoint was a threat, your brain would
expect pain from the steely edge of the blade, inevitably, slicing into your flesh, tearing through
the thick dermis, and severing your artery. A gruesome portrayal. But, at the time, its existence
was only confined to the pages of a perfectly laminated and hardcovered textbook. Or so I thought.

PROJECT ROTTI & TEA
By Ibraheem Rifthie

Rotti & Tea, a name that signifies
two nations under one slogan
with its own uniqueness. This was
name of the project that was
organised by the International
Services avenue of the Rotaract
Club of SLIIT from Sri Lanka and
the Rotaract Club of SRM
Kattankulathur from India. ‘Rotti’
represents the youth from India
whilst ‘Tea’ represents the youth
from Sri Lanka.

Hopping onto a ZOOM call, the participants had
an engaging and a fun time with banter and
activities done to keep everyone engaged. Teams
were categorised and activities were dominantly
team based.
The activities included games such as hangman,
charades (of movies), trivia quizzes and many
more fun activities that provided a much
needed stress reliever to the participants. Having
begun the project at 7PM over ZOOM, the
project due to the demand from the
participants exceeded the time going till 11:30PM
after which lasting memories were made. From
not knowing each other to building bridging
bonds with each other.

Project Rotti & Tea concluded successfully after many hours of laughter, fun and joy bringing two
neighbouring nations even closer. We would like to thank the organisers and participants for making this
possible, a much needed project!
