Life with your two year old is fun, and full of endearing moments that often can pass by
too quickly. Many challenges are presented by two year olds as they explore and learn
limitations and independence. Discover teachable moments and techniques to promote
your child’s learning, development, social, emotional and problem solving skills.

Children gain confidence and trust as their parents separate for parent education
discussions. Parent discussion topics may include: temper tantrums, setting limits and
encouraging independence while keeping children safe.

The Benefits of Bilingualism

There are many advantages to speaking
more than one language. Individuals who
are bilingual are constantly switching
between two different language systems,
which keeps their brains very active and
flexible. In fact, research strongly suggests
that bilingualism may even delay the
onset of age-related dementia, including
Alzheimer’s disease. Here are some more
benefits of bilingualism.

…It’s been close to ten years since a friend encouraged me to come to a Parent Advisory Council Or call: 763-391-8777
meeting... I found a place to contribute my time and talents in a variety of ways from sorting
Scholastic books to editing a newsletter to planning a family activity night. I found a place
to grow and try things I never thought I would, like chairing the council or organizing a 5K
race event. I found a wonderful group of teachers and staff who care deeply about the program
and all the families in it. Most importantly, I found a group of liked-minded parents getting
involved in their school and getting to know one another… Joining the council helped me get to
know more people and become part of the broader community…There are many great reasons
to join Parent Advisory Council. Whatever reason you choose, I know you’ll find even more
if you give it a try. I’m so glad I did!
