The True Meaning of Christmas

In today’s day and time,
It’s easy to lose sight,

Of the true meaning of Christmas
And one special night.

When we go shopping,
We say ‘How much will it cost? ‘
Then the true meaning of Christmas,

Somehow becomes lost.

Amidst the tinsel, glitter
And ribbons of gold,

We forget about the child,
Born on a night so cold.

The children look for Santa
In his big, red sleigh

Never thinking of the child
Whose bed was made of hay?

In reality,
When we look into the night sky,

We don’t see a sleigh
But a star, burning bright and high.

A faithful reminder,
Of that night so long ago,
And of the child we call Jesus,
Whose love, the world would know.

The Miracle Begins With You

This Advent let the miracle begin with you. Be proactive and make things happen.
Father Tony Ernst in this week’s bulletin says, “Put gratitude into action.” Do
something in your parish or community to share your blessings with those who
are in need. Contribute to a local food pantry or help support a local homeless shelter.
Reach out and share God’s blessings with someone who may be struggling in life.
Then in his homily, Fr. Tony states, “Don’t bury your talent.” So this Advent, share
your talents with others. God blessed each of us with special talents. Share what you
do well with others.

“You will see a miracle and so will we...”

Several years ago Dr. Philip Summers, past president of Vincennes University, in his opening remarks to the
freshmen class used the theme “The Miracle Begins With You.” The idea he presented was that whatever effort
put into college would equate later into what they would get out of life. This same theme holds true for all of
us - as what we put into our faith and Church, our family relations, our community, and our jobs will equate to
success.
Steven Covey, in his number one bestseller book, “The 7 habits of Highly Effective People”, lists being proactive
as number one. It means that as human beings we are responsible for our own lives. We have the initiative and the
responsibility to make things happen.
So, this Advent Season, let us be proactive and make things happen and then the miracle will begin with you.

The Gift That Keeps Giving
“Thanks for the harmonica you gave me for
Christmas,” little Joshua said to his uncle the first
time he saw him after the holidays. “It’s the best
Christmas present I ever got.”
That’s great,” said his uncle. “Do you know how to
play it?”
“Oh, I don’t play it,” the little fellow said. “My
mom gives me a dollar a day not to play it during
the day and my dad gives me five dollars a week
not to play it at night.”

A New Look
for Niehaus Lumber - Vincennes
Niehaus Lumber Vincennes is in the middle of an entire
store renovation -- consisting of new mill work (which
includes the paint counter, service desk and cashier
stands), new fixtures, new signage & product category
updates.

Pictured Above: Birds eye view of the outdoor living Thus far, the store has undergone several changes. At the
department and paint department. Pictured below (L to R): beginning of 2020, Niehaus Vincennes had white and red
LVT flooring. Within 14 days, Questmark Floors removed
new cashier stands & paint desk. the LVT, filled, cleaned and polished the new concrete
floors. The pallet racking that was once towering over has
been removed and will be replaced with 8’ high gondola
runs.
Two major departments moved locations. The Window
& Door department can now be found connected to
the Inspire Design Center while the Paint Department
is located on the retail side where you can find the new
Benjamin Moore chip display.
There are many components in a store renovation. One
major component that we are so blessed to have is an
awesome Niehaus Lumber team! They have spent several
hundreds of hours tearing down pallet racking, moving old
product, building the new cashier stands & more!
The project is planned to be finished in April of 2021.
Stay up to date on the new changes by following us on
Facebook!

at him... The long distance between their hearts
