As we move into our last stretch of the school year, there will be many exciting activities happening. We welcome and encourage parents to
participate! Please be sure you bring your drivers license to sign in at the front office. You must be a registered volunteer to participate in
classroom activities. Next school year our school starting and ending times will be the same. Our start time will be 9:40 and our ending time will
be 3:50. The tardy bell will ring at 9:40 promptly.

This week is Staff Appreciation Week. Take the time this week to write that special teacher, assistant, cafeteria worker,
art teacher or whom ever and let them know what a difference they mean to your child and family. This simple expression
means more to educators than you can imagine. Thank you to PTA for all our goodies this week!

We will be collecting overdue library books and outstanding lunch balances during the last few weeks of school. Please look for notices in your
child’s planner about overdue items. At this time, we are not taking any teacher requests for the 2016-2017 school year. We will keep you
posted of all the changes and if you have any concerns about your child’s placement for next year, please feel free to call and ask for
administration this summer. **Just a reminder about student dress code - there are no hats and no flip-flops allowed on campus unless we
designate a certain day. In addition, girls need to wear shirts or dresses that are at least 2 inches wide at the shoulders - no halters or
spaghetti straps. There should be no short shorts.

Several groups of students will be at Oakstead for summer school. This program begins on June 20th and lasts for six weeks. In addition, we
have PLACE for Oakstead families, summer clubs and numerous teacher/district trainings/workshops on campus this summer. You are welcome
to call the office anytime all summer with any questions you may have – just a reminder that we work 10 hour days and we are closed on most
Fridays.

Meet the Teacher is on Thursday; August 11th and the first day of school is on Monday; August 15, 2016.
