Greenway forest story

about a kid in a forest who gets lost and is saved by a porcupine.

Greenway forest

By Griffin Epema

It was a beautiful day in Greenway Forest California.
It was 85 degrees and there was a little bit of wind
which made it perfect. It is a good name for it
because from a far distance you see a lot of green.
The only thing that was not was the bark. I was out
here alone because I got pulled down by the river.
Away from my family. I am an only child.

I decided to take a seat by a tree because I
was tired. I sat down. I was super tired. Then
I almost fell asleep, it was so quiet out here.
No one was in sight. Then I heard something
from behind the bushes, I slowly walked by a
tree, and it was a tall and wide tree. I do not
know what it is called. I walked toward the
bush. My heart was beating really fast. I
thought it might be a snake and then I thought
it was a small bear!

When I thought it was a bear I turned and then I
saw it move the bush! It came out and was a
porcupine. He stood up slowly. It was like a bear
standing up and on his 2 legs. It shot his spikes
at me. I got hit by one of them on my arm. I had a
little bit of blood dripping down my arm. It did not
hurt that bad. I saw it running out of the corner of
my eye. I decided It would be a good idea to
follow the porcupine.

It was sprinting, and it kept trying to hide. I
thought about stopping and turning around. I
decided to keep following it. It hid in a bush for a
while, and then it finally came out and looked at
me. It looked like it smiled at me. It ran, and it
was looking like I have seen this place before.

It kept running and then it ran to the water and
was drinking some water, then I heard my name. I
turned around, and it was my mom and dad. I ran
to them and hugged them, and then I turned
around. I saw the porcupine wave at me. I waved
back and saw it run back.

This day I will never forget and I learned lesson
animals are not as dumb as we think.
