Sharks Love Me :)

I was in Florida, visiting my cousin and we all decided to go to the beach (me, my

mom, her mom, and herself). When we got into the water, we just talked and swam.

Before we had even realized it, the water had drifted us about a mile away from our

parents. Out of nowhere, a guy came running toward us and yelled, “GET OUT,

SHARK”! We turned around and saw a shark headed right toward us. We swam as fast

as we could out the water and we left immediately. That was the scariest moment ever!

100 Words- 3

Ripped Leggings and Burned Houses

One Friday evening, I was sitting on my counter doing my homework and eating

chipotle. Out of nowhere, I heard loud barking noises. I assumed it was my neighbor's

dog, Stolie, just being himself. The barking went on for a while, so I decided to check

on him. As I was getting off my counter, I fell face forward and ripped my leggings.

When I got back up from the painful fall, I saw smoke coming out of my neighbors

window and I called the police. Thankfully, no one was in there and Stolie survived, but

my leggings definitely did not.

A Very “Punny” Joke; The Meat-

A man walks into a bar and orders a drink. Then he notices there are pieces of meat
nailed to the ceiling of the bar so he asks the barman what they are for. The barman
replies, "If you can jump up and pull one of them down you get free beer all night. If
you fail, you have to pay the bar £100. Do you want to have a go?"
The man thinks about it for a minute before saying, "Nah, the steaks are too high!"

The Time I Got a Detention (for the first time)-

I was in reading, fifth hour. It was after lunch and the teacher had given us new

assigned seating. I was in the back and sitting in front of me was one of my bestfriends.

She turned around and set a laser pointer on my desk. The teacher was not looking

because he was writing some directions on the board so I picked up the laser pointer

and pointed it towards the board and pressed the red button. Everyone immediately

turned to look at me, including the teacher. He stormed over to his desk and filled out a

detention slip and slammed it onto my desk. Sadly, the laser pointer was taken away

for the rest of the school year because this was the fifth time it had happened this year..

and my friend is still mad at me.

Diabetes; “The Silent Killer”

Almost 18 million people, or 6% of the United States population has this disease. It's known as the silent killer. What is it? Diabetes.

Diabetes is when your body does not produce enough insulin. Insulin is a hormone that makes sugar, starches, and other foods into

energy. Most of the time, people get it because their obese or lack of exercise.

What is Type 1 diabetes? A.K.A “juvenile diabetes”, mostly in young adults and children. Sometimes they might need insulin

injections to stay alive. Mostly 5-10% of people get this form. Another type is Type 2 diabetes, which is the most common form of the disease.

About 90-95% of people get this type. To prevent this disease you can maintain a healthy weight, eat smaller portions of unhealthy foods, and

stay physically active.

A1c is a blood test that can measure someone's average blood sugar level over the past three months and determine whether they have
diabetes. High blood sugar can not only affect your heart, but can also affect your blood vessels, feet, and eyes. Diabetes could create a series
of problems like heart disease, strokes, vision loss, amputation, and kidney disease. That's why it is very important to stay active, eat right, and
take care of you body.

Technology- 9
3D Food Printer

What is a 3D printer? A 3D printer usually works by depositing layer by layer to make some kind of object. Making a 3D
FOOD printer is so much harder. The 3D printer can make shapes with melted chocolate, but cannot bake things. For example, the
3D printer CAN make the raw dough and add the sauce and cheese to make pizza, but YOU will have to bake it. The printer can
make brownies, cake toppings, pasta, and more. The 3D printer can also mash foods together use edible glue to put them together
(which isn't very tasty, but elders with chewing problems usually eat them). A problem is that when the 3D printer is making food,
sometimes you would have to wait for the food to cool or heat, which takes time. The 3D printer can make dough, chocolate, and
sugar, but it's harder to make meat. The 3D printer uses ingredient cartridges to make the foods, so a vegetable alone would use
millions of ingredient cartridges. Some people might not like it, but when the microwave first came out, not everyone understood
that technology, but about 90% of americans have them in their household. So, 3D food printers may not make very
delicious-tasting food right now, or be able to cook meals from scratch, but over the years it should be getting better. 3D food
printing will be our future.

The Puddle

It was a rainy afternoon, and i was

on my way home from the bus stop. I
stumble across a large puddle with
weird colors mixed into it. I looked
above me and there was a rainbow and
the rainbow was being reflected off the
puddle. It looked pretty cool.

Footprints Poem

I walked by the seaside,
I saw some footprints,
some wandered around the shore,
to the water to the land.
Some went all over,
and lots of games are played,
some went on a straight path,
with plans laid ahead.

Some of them were children's’,
the mark was a perfect hint,
others were kind of heavy,
and spoiled the whole footprint.

Will some be pointless wandering,

that really show nothing. So we keep walking, So think of those behind,
and the print they'll see,
or will I make a mark? along the passing sands of time, will your prints give them purpose?
live to inspire,
and leave a print that sparks? what footprints do we leave?
footprints.
will they show a purpose?
