Pulled by Wagon
Naaaaaay, went the horse pulling the old wagon down the road. It
sounded tired by the heavy breathing that it is doing so I ran up to the front
and said to dad that we need to stop and let the horse get something to
drink. I saw a creek down the hill. “If you don't mind letting me take her
down there and let her get a drink,” I said. My dad said yes, so I took Bessy
down the hill and let her get a drink. When she was done drinking we saw
a big diamondback rattlesnake. Bessy got scared and tried to take off
running, but I had tied here top to a tree. I started to pet here soft silky hair.
It felt really smooth. Finally, after we waited for a while it had got dark so I
took Bessy up to the wagon and tied her up to the wagon. We decided to
stay the night there. We had to sleep in sleeping bags on the ground that
night because we had put some wood in the space that we had left in the
wagon. As we were sleeping around 7:00 am in the morning dad decided to
wake us up with his guitar.
We woke up and ate breakfast. We ate some pork and bacon. We finally
got finished with breakfast and headed out to Louisiana. We had to cross
rivers, creeks, and trees. Finally, we were in Arkansas and we would be
there in one week
We could live on the prairie and live in a nice log house and have sheep,
pigs, and goats. We had a long way to go though so, “don’t get your hopes
up yet,” my dad said. We finally made it to a small place called Kirby where
we could find a motel and stay the night. We finally found one and when we
got there there was mold everywhere. My dad decided to just sleep in a
barn that they had out back. The next day we finally got to our destination.
A place called Moncus Loop, Louisiana. We found a perfect place to stay. It
has four beds and one bathroom which was outside, which people call the
outhouse. I'm glad we don't have to stay in the sleeping bag on the ground
anymore because I keep waking up in the morning and my back is hurting.
I learned that you should never sleep on the ground for more than three
days straight or else your back will hurt.
