• Fable

The Ant And The Grasshoppe

In a field one summer’s day a grasshopper was hopping about, chirping
and singing to its heart’s content. An ant passed by, bearing along with
great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.
“Why not come and chat with me,” said the grasshopper, “instead of
toiling and moiling in that way?”
“I am helping to lay up food for the winter,” said the ant, “and recommend
you to do the same.”
“Why bother about winter?” said the grasshopper; we have got plenty of
food at present.” The Ant went on its way and continued its toil.
When the winter came the grasshopper found itself dying of hunger while
it saw the ants distributing, every day, corn and grain from the stores they
had collected in the summer.

• Myth

The Myth Of Dewi Sri

Once upon a time, Batara Guru commanded all the gods and goddesses to
contribute their power in order to build a new palace. Anybody who disobeyed this
commandment were considered lazy and would lose their arms and legs.
Hearing the Batara Guru’s commandment, Naga god was very anxious because he
didn’t have arms or legs. He might not be able do the job. So he asked advice from
Batara Narada who was the younger brother of Batara Guru. Unfortunately Narada
was also confused. The Naga god became very upset.
While the Naga god was crying for his bad luck, three teardrops fell on the ground.
Not long after that, those teardrops became three beautiful shining eggs which
looked like jewels. Then Batara Narada advised him to offer those shining eggs to
Batara Guru.
With the three eggs in his mouth, the Naga god went to the Batara Guru’s palace.
On the way, an eagle asked him a question. Surely Naga god could not answer the
question because he was holding the eggs in his mouth. Seeing that, the bird
thought that Naga god was arrogant and the bird attacked him.
Being attacked, one egg fell to earth. Then Naga god was hiding in the bushes but
the bird was waiting for him. The bird attacked for the second time and one egg
fell again. So Naga god only had one egg in his mouth. He kept moving to Batara
Guru’s palace.

Finally Naga god arrived at the palace. He offered the egg to the Batara Guru. And
miraculously the egg hatched became a very beautiful baby girl. Naga god gave the
baby girl to the Batara Guru. The baby grew up into a beautiful girl and later
known for Dewi Sri.

• Legend

The Legend Of Kesodo Feast In Mount Bromo

Hundreds years ago, the last king of Majapahit had a young princess from one of
his wives. The princess was named Roro Anteng. Later, Roro Anteng married Joko
Seger, who came from Brahman caste.
Because of unfortunate situation the couple was forced to leave the kingdom. They
settled in the mountain area. They ruled the area and named it Tengger, which was
derived from their names, Roro Anteng and Joko Seger.
After several years of reign, the region flourished in prosperity, but Roro Anteng
and Joko Seger were sad because they did not have a child. They climbed the top
of mountain and prayed there night and day hoping that the God would listen. The
prayer was heard and Betoro Bromo promised to give them many children.
However, they had to promise that they would sacrifice their youngest child in
return.
Roro Anteng gave birth to a child, then another and another. In the end, Roro
Anteng and Joko Seger had 25 children. Soon it was time to sacrifice the youngest
child , Kusuma, but the parents could not do it. They tried to hide him, but an
eruption happened and Kusuma fell into the crater. There was silence before they
heard a voice. “I have to be sacrificed so that you will all stay alive. From now on,
you should arrange an annual offering ceremony on the 14th of Kesodo (the
twelfth month of Tengerese calendar)”. It was Kusuma’s voice. Kusuma’s brothers

and sisters held the offering ceremony every year. Instead of human being, they
collected fruits, vegetables, rice, and meat to be offer to the Gods. And this has
been done generation after generation until today.

The Goose and The Golden Egg

Once upon a time, there was a farmer who had a goose that is absolutely gorgeous,
where every day when the farmer came to corral the swans, the Swan has
spawneda glittering golden egg.
The farmers take and bring the golden eggs to market and sell it so that in a short
time the farmers start to become rich. But soon greed and impantience farmers
against the Swans appeared because the Swan gives only an egg every day. The
farmers feel he is not going to get rich quick by the way so.
One day, after counting his money, an idea emerged at the head of the farmers, the
idea that he’s going to get all the golden eggs the Swan while simultaneously
cutting the Swan. But when the idea is implemented, there is not an egg she can
find, and the goose very valuable already die cut.

• Fairy Tale

Sleeping Beauty

In a faraway kingdom, there was an empire led by a king and queen. The king led
his region with a very wise and prudent. Despite being a king, their life was less
happy because they did not have a child. It made the king and queen became sad.
Then one day the queen gave birth to a beautiful little daughter named Princess
Aurora. The birth of the little princess made the king and the entire kingdom happy.
The king was making a big celebration to welcome his daughter. He invited all the
people in the kingdom, including all the fairies that live in the kingdom. The king
invited them to ask for their blessing. But the king forgot to invite all the fairies in
the kingdom. The facts that there were 13 fairies in kingdom but the king only invited
12 fairies.
When the celebration party was running on, all of the fairies invited by king
surrounded the little princess to give a blessing. One by one fairy was utter blessings.
One fairy gave blessing of goodness, another fairy gave blessing of health, and the
next fairy gave blessing of beautiful voice and so on. When the 12th fairy was about
to give her blessing, the 13th fairy who were not invited by the king come. She was
very angry and could not accept this humiliation.

The 13th fairy was not giving a blessing to the little princess, she even cursed her.
The 13th fairy said, “When the baby is 16 years old, she will be pricked by a needle
and fall asleep for a long time”. After saying that curse the 13th fairy left the palace

using her broomstick. Everyone in the palace was shocked and saddened as well as
the king and queen. The queen begged to the fairies, “Please withdraw this curse”.
“What have been spoken irrevocable my queen ” said the fairy. The others fairy tried
to calm king and queen, “You do not worry. The princess will not die, she just fall
asleep for a long time “” And this curse will be lost if there is prince who awakened
her “another fairy added. Hearing the explanation, the king and queen relieved.

However, they were still afraid of the incident occurred. The king ordered to get rid

of all the needles in the palace.

Days passed, Princess aurora grown into a beautiful princess. She was very good and

had very beautiful voice. Everyone in the palace loved her. At the age of 16, the

princess entered a small room in her palace. She saw a woman who was sewing. The
princess was surprised and asked, “What are you doing?”, “I’m sewing, come here
I will teach you to sew” the woman replied. Princess Aurora did not know that the

old woman is evil fairy in disguise. She took needle in the hands of women. Then

suddenly she was pricked and fell asleep. When Princess Aurora asleep, all people

in the kingdom were fell asleep too. Then the fairy put her on a mattress.

Years passed, Princess Aurora had been asleep for hundreds of years. Until the day

came, a prince from a distant land approached the kingdom. He saw a beautiful

princess asleep there. Then the prince kissed princess aurora. Then the cursed was

destroyed. The princess woke up from her sleep, as well as those that exist in the

palace. Eventually they become lovers and lived happily ever after.

• Love Story

Falling in Love

Long time ago, lived a girl named Sekar Arum. She lived in a village named
Bengawan. She was a kind girl eventhough she was not really beautiful. She fell in
love to someone named Banyu Aji. He was really handsome. He worked on the corn
field every single day. Sekar Arum always accompanied Banyu Aji on the field. She
always brought him food to eat. She also helped him on the field. But, Banyu Aji
never love Sekar Arum, he just use her to help him. He thought that he will never
love a girl who are not beautiful.
Sekar Arum tried her best to get Banyu Aji attention, but as the time goes by Sekar
Arum felt tired to struggle only to get Banyu Aji love. When she wanted to give up,
suddenly in her village a handsome man appeared. His name was Segoro Kidul. He
was a blacksmith. Sekar Arum who already tired on getting Banyu Aji attention,
then try to get close to Segoro Kidul. She was really happy to get close to Segoro
Kidul, because he was very nice to her.

Day by day passed, Segoro Kidul and Sekar Arum getting much closer. Banyu Aji
who usually get Sekar Arum attention now felt lonely. Then he tried to find out what
happen. One day, when he went to Sekar Arum house, he saw Sekar Arum and
Segoro kidul sat together in front of Sekar Arum house. He didn’t know what happen
to him, but he felt jealous.
Banyu Aji then tried to get Sekar Arum attention back. He tried to approach Sekar
Arum. He brought her food, clothes, shoes, and any other things. But, Sekar Arum
already falling in love to Segoro Kidul. Then she told Banyu Aji to stop give her so
many things, because her heart would never fall again for him. Banyu Aji was very
disappointed. He realized that he was stupid not accept Sekar Arum love. On the
other hand, Sekar Arum then got married with Segoro Kidul and they live happily
ever after.

• Personal Experience

My Bad Day

When I woke up on Monday, I was very surprised to see the clock has been
demonstrated at 6.30. I quickly got up and shower. After a shower, I eat breakfast,
then go to school by public transport. When I get off of public transportation, I
opened the bag to take the money. Immediately I remembered that today is Monday.
Time carried the flag ceremony. Turns out I forgot to put a cap on the bag. Finally,
with confidence, I walked to school.

On arrival at the school, students were already gathered in the field. The
ceremony was about to begin. I too hastily ran to the parade ground and the rear
berbalis. When the ceremony begins, the principal briefed directly challenge school
discipline. Suddenly there came a teacher to check the neatness of his students. And
unfortunately, I do not wear hats. Me and my friends who violates the order of march
should be separated from students who do not violate the order.

After the ceremony, the children who violate the order should not leave the
field. Because it will be punished. We were told to clean up the parade ground. We
watched one of my teachers. Half an hour passed, all of a sudden my teacher called
us to line up again. It turns out punishment to clean the field has been completed.
We feel relieved. I think this sentence has expired. But our teacher added another
penalty on us. We were told to make the words "I will not repeat this act again" until

100x. And must be completed at the first break. To my surprise upon hearing those
words. In my heart to say that just because a school cap, I am punished like this.

Fortunately, the first lesson because the teacher did not go empty. I used it to
write a sentence that is given the task of the teacher. I finished my job right in the
recess. Together with friends. I feel relieved. From experience, I always take my hat
into the bag.

Forget the Card

It just happened yesterday........ in the afternoon when I just finished english course
in mj center I go home with niar but before I go home I stopped by to the cafe to
find the task that was given sir mardi I.E to open his blog and translite it, and
because of the it, I came late it make me became hurry to get to home ehmm by
the way i ride motorcycle with niar. but not about it the real story is beginning, as
I had finished by the task I forget that I must buy the quota card so I stoped at the
store that sold it and then ( jeng jeng jeng, the sound of drum ) after a long jurney I
found a shop that sell it so I came in and asked “ Excuse me miss do you have a
quota card of exis ” “ Yes it is, (she showed many card) what do you want ?” she
said, “I want this , emh what is the price of it ?” I asked, she answed “it is Rp
16.000 “ “Oke it is your money, oke let’s niar we are late”, but as I rode the motor
niar asked “ Dewi do you forget something ? I said “ What is it...... oh my god my
quota card. So I am back the shop and take it and go home with laugh with niar.

The Legend Of The Ghost Cut Mouth

There is a legend in Japan and China, which tells the story of a girl named
Kuchisake–Onna. Some people say that she was the wife of a samurai. One day, he
had an affair with a man who is younger and more handsome. When her husband
came home, he found his wife’s betrayal.
Because wrath, he took his sword and ripping off his wife’s mouth from right ear to
left ear. Some say that the woman is cursed to never die, and until now is still
wandering in the world.

I Am Not A Hero

One day, there was a man lived in a Metro City, his name is Rex Allen.
Rex was a soldier, but he had to stop working, because he had a cancer inside his
body.

Doctor said that his life was just 3 months left, it made him very shocked.
But, one day he met a misterious man using a black suit, he gave Rex a card name
and whispered to him “If you want to survive, come to me”. He just look at the card
which was written “Doctor X” and an address. Without thinking, he rushed to home,
packed his things in a bag, and went to the address.

When he arrived, it was a laboratory at the corner of the city. He met the
doctor and was directed to the operation room. He was injected with a regeneration
serum, and he became unconscious. After three days, he woke up and felt his cancer
was gone. But, when he saw his skin, it looked like a burned skin which was very
disgusting. He met the doctor and asked about what had happened, but the doctor
just said “You are a fail experiment object, and you have to die”.

After that the security arrested him and sent him to prison. Before he
arrived at the prison, he took the security’s gun and killed all of the security. He

looked for his bag which contained some guns and knives. He was very angry,

because he was tricked and made as a experiment object by the doctor, so he wanted

the doctor to repair what had the doctor done to his skin.

When he wanted to find the doctor, the alarm went on and everybody in

that lab was instructed to kill him. No longer, he shot many people who wanted to

kill him. He did that like a mad man who was very angry. But, when he was

surrounding by 20 men, he was shot by many bullets. He thought that he was die,

but the regeneration serum made him liked a mutan which had a very fast
regeneration. So, his body can recover and he couldn’t die with that way. With a
surprise, he woke up again and shot the men’s head very fast. He realized that he

could recover and move very fast.

After he killed meny people, finally he met the doctor. He asked the doctor
to repair him, but the doctor just laugh and said that “Ha ha ha ha.. you are a mutan
now, so I can’t repair you anymore, and you have to die now!”. The doctor shot him
at his head, but he was surpised because Rex didn’t die. “You can’t kill me doctor,
because I’m a mutan!”. Rex shot the doctor by 5 bullets that left in his gun to the
doctor’s head.

He rescued all of the mutan in that lab, and brought them to hospital. The

police thanked him, because he had exposed the organitation that made human
became an experiment object. Many people said that he was a hero, but he didn’t

wanted to be a hero, because hero never kill his enemy. He just wanted to kill the

bad people and save the good people in the world. He wanted to be called as
“Undead”.

He found that he would never believe to people that he didn’t know, and

saving good people is the best thing that he could do.
