Breast Feeding Week (1st - 7th August) Role of fathers in breastfeeding Breastfeeding …..dif icult time for mothers ….not only have to take care of the baby but also recover from the delivery ………It is stressful physically & mentally . …….Supportive partner helps her both physically and emotionally then this phase can be a la la land & this also improves the attachment to the child . ….. is also the best way to avoid the insecurities that develop in the father due to exclusive breastfeeding by the mother. **Few ways by which father’s can get involved and enjoy it equally as the mother : v Burp the baby mid feed and change diapers ……the onus of raising the child no longer lies with the mother only……... It's an equal partnership in which both mother and father are together from being in labor to taking care of the baby. vMother feeds the baby and fathers get them burped . Mother gives bath to the baby and father make them wear clothes and change the diapers vBottle Feeding the baby with pumped milk……If the mother is tired or sleepy is the best way in which father can help …..& nurture the father baby bond. vTaking care of mother’s needs of nutritious food and drinks by the father while she is breastfeeding & taking care of the child can give her peace and enjoyment. vPost Delivery , running / supervising errands by the father especially in nuclear family…..-. helps mother recover physically and mentally vSkin to skin care or kangaroo father care….,,helps build a great father child bond ….. gives the motherly feel to the father …. which most fathers wish to have . ….can be done by making the child sleep on chest and while giving them burps . vStaying awake with the baby ……, Being the cheerleader . ……. and saying I am there for the baby gives a lot of peace to the mother . …It helps her recover faster …..be a stronger woman both mentally and physically . Postpartum period can be a la la land only if there is good support from the father . …..It's an equal partnership which starts from getting married to becoming parents to grandparents . District 301 DISTRICT TEEJ - “PARAMPARA” Date-17th AUGUST’23 Venue- Mosaic Sandoz Banquet, Industrial area Wazirpur Delhi Hosted by : IWC Delhi Civil lines, Chief Guest -AP Mrs Preeti Gugnaniji “Rangeeli sawan aayo re rangeelo sawan” with these songs in the background the function started with welcome of DC Dr Urvashi Mittalji , AP Preeti Gugnaniji dignitaries, & members , followed by collaring of the club President , DC & AP. Recitation of Innerwheel Prayer was followed by Lamp lighting by the dignitaries followed by their honoring by Host club members. Best Wishes & Apologies was told by DS Deepika Baliji. AP & DC were given “SINGHARA” made of beautiful flowers & were made to sit on Swing beautifully decorated with flowers. Performances by host club members & District executives, was followed by dance competition on the theme /kud lax >wes /kjk In the dance competition we could see UNITY in DIVERSITY as each performance had more than 1 club members performing together Performance by IWC GK & team was judged as Best. AP Preeti Gugnaniji in her speech correlated CELEBRATING TEEJ with BEING IN TANDEM WITH NATURE & RESPECTING NATURE. DC Dr Urvashi Mittal ji also talked about “SAY NO TO PLASTIC“especially water bottles by using our own steel water bottles for which everyone took a pledge. Another pledge taken by DC & members was to go GIFTLESS & AWARDLESS in order to promote selfless Service to mankind. AVP Sunita Jainji along with PIIWPAbha Guptaji , & many PDC’s graced the occasion The function ended with lot of Masti & fun followed by vote of thanks by District Vice Chairman Dr Manisha Kaushikji & National Anthem .

Know Your Organization "International Innerwheel” 1. The First Inner Wheel Club of the world - The Manchester Club (England) - was born on the 1Oth January 1924. This day is observed as-the Inner Wheel Day. 2. The inaugural meeting was held in Manchester on 15th Nov. 1923, attended by 27 members. 3. The First Inner Wheel District No. 5 (England) was born in 1928. 4. The First overseas Club was born in Ballarat, Australia in 1931. 5. The First overseas Inner Wheel District - The Netherlands District, was formed in 1948. Later the same was numbered as District 26. 6. On 6th May 1934 the Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland came into existence. 7. In 1967, International Inner Wheel was formed. The First Conference was held at Brighton and Mrs. L. Weightman became the First President of International Inner Wheel. 8. The First IIW Convention was held at The Hague, Netherlands. 9. In 1949 it was decided to appoint a full time salaried Secretary to meet the needs of the business side of the Association of GB & I. Mrs. Elizabeth Eaton was the First Secretary. 10.
