Warm Up

● 2 Laps around gym
● 10 Jumping Jacks
● 10 Push ups
● 10 Sec Arm Stretches

1. THE BLOB TAG How To Play:

Skills: Teamwork and speed ● One or more children are the Blob.
Time Requirement: 5-10 mins ● Any one tagged by the Blob must join hands and
Space Requirement: Half Court
become part of it.
● Object: For the Blob to devour everyone and for

everyone else to stay alive as long as possible.

2. Duck, Duck, How To Play:
Goose
● One child is chosen as the fox and walks around
Skills: Speed and Listening the group, lightly touching each player on the
head while saying “Duck,” with each touch.
Time Requirement: 5-10 min
● When the child says “Goose”, the person who was
Space Requirement: Half court or enough touched gets up and tries to tag the fox.

● Once the fox picks a goose, s/he is trying to run
around the circle and sit down where the goose
was.

● If the fox gets tagged, s/he goes into the middle,
the cooking pot, for one round.

● The goose then becomes the next fox and another
round begins.

3. BED SHEET How To Play:
PING PONG
● Players stand and hold a bed sheet on opposite
Skills: Awareness, Speed, Teamwork ends.
Time Requirement: 5-10 min
Space Requirement: Half COurt ● A ping pong ball is placed onto the sheet.
● The sheet is then raised or lowered.
● The object of the game is to get the ping pong

ball to fall off the other team’s side of the sheet.

4. BODY PART How To Play:
FREEZE TAG
● Select one or two children to be “it.” These children run
Skills: Speed, Balance around tagging other children.
Time Requirement: 5 mins
Space Requirement: Half court ● If a child is tagged on the arm, only the arm is frozen.
● If tagged on the leg, only the leg is frozen, so the child

must hop on one leg.
● If both legs are tagged, the child can pull himself along

the ground with arms (assuming they weren’t already
tagged).
● The object is to completely freeze as many as possible.
● If you want, you can have others unfreeze body parts as
well.

5. Lighthouse and How To Play:
Ships
● One player is designated to be the lighthouse.
Skills: Listening ● One quarter of the players assumes the role of “rocks”
Time Requirement: 10 mins
Space Requirement: Half court and they scatter in a bounded area.
● All the other students become ships and boats of various

sizes.
● The ships blindly navigate their way (eyes closed) their

way about, attempting to reach the safety of the
lighthouse.
● If a boat bumps into a rock, the boat becomes an
extension of the existing rock and makes the noise
“swish” (water lapping against the rocks).
● The lighthouse constantly goes “Beep! Beep! Beep!” to
help the ships reach the safety of the lighthouse.

6. Jack? How To Play:

Skills: Listening, Balance ● Everyone walks around with their eyes closed in a small
Time Requirement: 5 mins space.
Space Requirement: Half court
● When they bump into someone–they ask, “Jack?”
● If “Jack” is said back to you— then they are not the

person you are looking for and you continue looking in the
group.
● The referee has whispered to one person, telling them
that they are the “Jack”.
● The Jack does not have to close their eyes and if someone
bumps into them and asks “Jack?” they do not respond.
● This is the clue to join onto their hand and open your eyes.
● The fun comes when there is only one person left to find
the Jack!

7. Limbo How To Play:

Skills: Balance ● Two players hold a soft rope or stick 3′ to 4′ long.
Time Requirement: 5mins ● Players take turns leaning backward and
Space Requirement: Half court
shuffling under the rope.
● Lower the rope after each round.

8. Caterpillar How To Play:
Race
● Divide into two groups of 4-8 people.
Skills: Speed, Teamwork, Communication ● Have the players line up, in each group, one
Time Requirement: 5 mins
Space Requirement: Half court behind another in a straight line.
● Have each player place their legs around the

waist or the person in front of them and have
their feet be in the person’s lap.
● Only the first player should have their feet on the
ground.
● Using only their hands the object of the game is
to scoot to the finish line.
● Once the entire caterpillar crosses the line then
that team won.

9. Hula Hoop How To Play:
Freeze Tag
● Scatter out several hula hoops around the floor.
Skills: Speed, Awareness ● Assign taggers to freeze the other players.
Time Requirement: 5 mins ● Students inside a hula hoop can not get frozen,
Space Requirement: Half court
but can only stay long enough to count to 10.
● Only one child per hula hoop is allowed.

10. Stuck in the How To Play:
Mud
● A basic tag game.
Skills: Speed, Teamwork ● If children are tagged, they must stand with their
Time Requirement: 5 mins
Space Requirement: Half court legs apart (stuck in
● the mud) until someone crawls through and

releases them.

11. Mirror How To Play:

Skills: Awareness, Speed, Accuracy ● Choose one partner to start doing various
Time Requirement: 3 mins motions. They can kick, move their harms, spin
Space Requirement: Half court around, or do any other motions.

● The child’s partner will try to mirror their
motions.

12. Octopus How To Play:

Skills: Awareness, Speed ● Play as with dodgeball, but instead of sitting out
Time Requirement: 5 mins to the side– players sit down where they are
Space Requirement: Full court tagged by the ball.

● From their sitting position, the octopus (tagged
kids) help with tagging any players who get close
enough to be touched.

● If a player is caught this way, they also sit down
where they have been caught.
